TO HOLD RITES FOR VETERAN
Hezekiah Bradds Will Be Buried in National Cemetery
Springfield (Mo.) Press, p. 9
February 17, 1931

Funeral services for Hezekiah Bradds, who died Monday, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and burial will be in National Cemetery under direction of the Alma Lohmeyer Funeral Home. His home was at 323 West Pacific Street [in Springfield].

Mr. Bradds was born in Virginia in 1847 and after moving to Ohio when a youth, joined the Sixtieth Ohio Regiment of the Union Army, when only 16 years old.

A recent pamphlet written by the war veteran gives in detail incidents of importance which he has remembered since he war. In the latter years of his wife, he was able to recall plainly the factors determining the end of the war, the success of the north, and facts surrounding the reconstruction period which took place following the war.

He had great faith in prayer, attributing the success of the northern armies to the people at home who kept their faith in God and prayed for the army.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Sarah A. Bradds, two brothers, Andy Bradds of Kansas City and George Bradds, who lives in Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Sally Sherwood of Kansas City.

He was buried in 1931 at Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, Greene Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 399957.
