William Wilberforce Williams and Lucy Neil, on 24 February 1916 at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Co., CA, The Washington Post, Washington, District of Columbia; Tuesday, 14 MAR 1916, p.7 (Newspapers.com):

Mr. Charles Wheeler, polo player, pursuer of big game and member of society of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Hannah Neal (sic) Hobart, of San Francisco, Cal., who once was wife of Mr. Walter S. Hobart, were married in Santa Barbara, Cal., on February 24.

News of the wedding reached Philadelphia Saturday and caused surprise in society. No member of Mr. Wheeler's family was present at the ceremony, which was kept secret until Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler were many miles out on the Pacific. Mrs. Alexander S. Lilley, a sister of the bride; Mr. Wilberforce Williams, her brother, and Mr. Lilley, her brother-in-law, were the only witnesses of the marriage.

Mr. Wheeler is the son of Mrs. Charles Wheeler, of Pembroke, Bryn Mawr. He is a brother of Countess Pappenheim, who was Miss Mary Wheeler; of Mrs. Philip Wainman, whose husband, Capt Wainman, of the British army, was killed in action in France several months ago; of Mrs. George Thayer, of Mrs. Richard McCall Eliot and of Mrs. Henry Norris. He is a member of many clubs.

The bride is noted for her beauty, and was a favorite in English society. She and Mr. Hobart were divorced three years ago. She has four (sic) children.

WOLCOTT -- Dolores Bish, 61, of 404 W. Johnson St., died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 25, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.

Mrs. Bish was born May 30, 1932, in Chicago, moving to Wolcott from Chicago in 1987. She married Wallace Bish on March 16, 1957, and he survives.

She attended New Lenox (Ill.) High School, and was a homemaker.

     Eliza Griscom Wheeler was born on 14 March 1817 at New York City, NY. She was the daughter of Eliphalet Wheeler and Mary Matilda Van Lew. Eliza Griscom Wheeler married William Starling Sullivant, son of Lucas Sullivant and Sarah Starling, on 29 November 1834, According to family tradition, William met Eliza on a ferry while visiting New York City.1 Cause of death: on 23 August 1850 at Mt. Vernon, Knox Co., OH, Cholera.

The William S. Sullivant family had fled the city of Columbus to stay at a farm near Mt. Vernon during a cholera outbreak, but Eliza did not escape the disease. Eliza Griscom Wheeler died on 23 August 1850 at Mt. Vernon, Knox Co., OH, at age 33. She was buried in August 1850 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Lot P, Columbus, Franklin Co., OH.
