Rosa Windle lived on 3 April 1930 at Brownville, Tuscaloosa Co., AL.² She lived on 6 April 1940 at Brownville, Tuscaloosa Co., AL, Patricia Noland, age 3 is listed as a daughter. Rosa was long since separated from her husband and age 44 as of the census -- Patricia was more likely a granddaughter. DLB 2019.³ She died on 28 December 1975 at Tuscaloosa Co., AL, at age 79.      Rosa A. Windle was born in January 1880 at St. John's Village, Multnomah Co., OR, 1880 census p.199B.¹ She was the daughter of John Wesley Windle and Mary M. Ulery.

     Rosabelle Windle was also known as "Bell". She was born on 22 November 1908 at Sligo, Dent Co., MO. She was the daughter of William Windle and Bertha Irene Phelps. Rosabelle Windle married Gordon John Engen, son of Anna (?). Rosabelle Windle died on 11 March 1963 at Los Angelles, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 54. She was buried in March 1963 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Woodbury Co., IA.

     Rose Etta Windle was born on 20 November 1877 at Dent Co. (probably), MO, per 1900 census. Death certificate shows 1878.^1,2 She was the daughter of Robert Lafayette Windle and Lucinda Jane Clinton.¹ As of 1894, Rose Etta Windle was also known as "Rosa". She married William M. Freeman, son of Rev. Richard Monroe Freeman and Martha C. Taff, on 6 September 1894 at Dent Co., MO, Rev. Jesse Elisha Smith officiating. Dent County Marriage Book E, page 318A. Rose Etta Windle died on 13 September 1954 at Bonne Terre, St. Francois Co., MO, at age 76. Note: Findagrave Memorial #48796507 for Susan Jane (Burgess) Windle shows Rosie as the biological daughter of Susan and Robert L. Windle. It is possible this is correct, although Rosie's birth almost two years prior to the marriage raises considerable doubt about this. She was more likely the daughter of Lucy Clinton, who apparently died in conjunction with, or shortly after Rosie's birth. Rosie's death certificate (informant -- her daughter Hazel) shows mother's maiden name "Unknown". DLB 2021.

Windle lived in 1920 at 219 Western Avenue, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA.² Occupation: auditor in storage warehouse in 1920.² He married Anna Katherine Kramer, daughter of Michael Kramer and Catherine Borman, circa 1924.²

DRAPER – Ruby Windle Tickle, age 86, beloved wife, mother, and friend, departed this life on Jan. 29, 2006, at Pulaski Community Hospital after a brief illness. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband, James "Phip" Tickle, Sr., and her wonderful son, James "Jimmy" Tickle. Ruby was a lifelong resident of Draper and member of the Draper Valley Baptist Church. She was dedicated to her family, to her church, and to her many friends.

She was the daughter of the late William Floyd Windle and Bessie Jones Windle. Preceding her in death were her brothers, John Windle and Earnest Clyde Windle; her sisters, Virginia Cook, Nannie Quesenberry, Maggie Underwood, and Ruth Akers. Ruby was a long time employee of Pulaski Apparel and Lee Jeans and had served as a volunteer at Pulaski Community Hospital. Left with many beautiful memories are her children and spouses, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all those who knew her as "Granny Tickle".

Her children are Johnny and Ruby Tickle, Draper; Jerry and Linda Tickle, Morris, Mn. and Bessie Tickle, Draper. Grandchildren and spouses include Chris and Lynne Tickle, Richmond; Kelly and Jeff DeWitt, Roseville, Mn; Daphne and Lee LaFleur, Draper; Derek and Kim Tickle, Dublin; Jeffrey Tickle, St. Paul, Mn; Julie Tickle, St. Paul, Mn., and BethanyTickle, Morris, Mn. Great-grandchildren are Philip and Pierce Tickle, Richmond; Kayla and Matthew DeWitt, Roseville, Mn. and Joshua Tickle, Dublin. Grandchildren by devotion include Jennifer Bolling, Angela Hill, Joey and Bradley Rigney, and Ryan McCollum. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Frances Windle, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Although she loved the beauty of flowers, she would appreciate memorial donations in her honor to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 1131, Fairfax, Virginia 22038-1131 or the Draper Valley Baptist Church, 3200 Lee Highway, Draper, Va. 24324.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Draper Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Wilford Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Wednesday evening from the Draper Valley Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski, Va.

Russell Lawrence Windle and Ellouise Mae Perry were divorced in 1944 at Wabash Co., IN. Russell Lawrence Windle died in April 1977 at Butler, Dekalb Co., IN, at age 71.

     Ruth Windle was born circa January 1925 at Nelsonville, Athens Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of John R. Windle and Anna Dearrington.¹
