The marriage of James W. Windle to Adeline Isabelle Neff was shown as "0" years old on the 1910 census and she was the mother of zero children, so she was not the mother of William. This marriage lasted less than eight years -- Judson remarried to Viola (Yant) Cowgill in AUG 1918. Bertha had been listed with her husband and children in the April, 1910 census -- the fate of her first husband, Joseph Rodgers, is unknown, but it is most curious that she was remarried within six months.

William Judson Windle married Viola Etta Yant on 3 August 1918 at Indiana. William Judson Windle married Estella Hartsough before April 1930. William Judson Windle died on 8 April 1957 at Grabill, Allen Co., IN, at age 80 per death certificate.      Note: Obituary from Tuesday Nov. 17, 1925:

William Windle a former Rarden man died Monday at his home in Clermont County , where he removed several years ago. He was about sixty-five years of age and his death was caused by cancer of the stomach. Windle served as marshall of Rarden for a number of years and while serving in that capacity was shot and severely wounded by James Langthorn during a gun battle on the village street about 25 years ago. He is survived by his by his widow and four children, Lora Windle of Kentucky, Arthur of Cincinnati, Mrs. Lloyd South (Pearl) of Clermont County, and Sarah of Chicago. Grafton and Frank Windle are brothers and Mrs. Ella Jenkins of New Boston, Mrs. Alex Jenkins of Norhern Ohio are sisters.
