Found Jacob Yoho, age 56,and wife Rachel in Seneca Twp., Noble Co., but they have a son Peter, age 18. DLB 2004. She was born on 24 June 1842 at Guernsey Co. (probably), OH.¹ She was the daughter of William Henry Yoho and Lucretia Long. Ellen Yoho married Laban P. Starr, son of John Starr and Elizabeth Wendell, on 27 October 1860 at Noble Co., OH, 11 children born, 7 living as of 1900, per census info.^1,2 Ellen Yoho died on 8 June 1939 at age 96.

     Hazel Yoho was born on 12 March 1900 at Grant District, Jackson Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Madison Yoho and Nancy Margaret Holleron.¹ Hazel Yoho married Paul Kruger Stephens on 26 June 1925 at Wood Co., WV. She was born on 10 May 1891 at Wirt Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Yoho and Margaret Ann Finley.¹ Isadore Margaret Yoho married William M. Dowler, son of Charles Dowler and Mary Jane Giffin, in 1910 at Wirt Co., WV. Isadore Margaret Yoho lived on 3 April 1930 at Slate District, Wood Co., WV, farming.² She died on 4 April 1989 at age 97.      Samuel Madison Yoho was born on 13 April 1869 at Noble Co., OH., 1900 census shows 1870, but 1870 census which was to list "Age at last birthday" shows age 1.^2,1,3 He was the son of Jacob Yoho and Margaret Ann Finley.¹ Samuel Madison Yoho married Nancy Margaret Holleron on 15 January 1896 at Jackson Co., WV. Samuel Madison Yoho lived in June 1900 at Grant District, Jackson Co., WV.³ He lived in April 1910 at Sixth Avenue, Tygart District, Wood Co., WV.⁴ He died on 4 November 1945 at Wood Co., WV, at age 76.

     Sarah C. Yoho was born circa 1872 at Noble Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Jacob Yoho and Margaret Ann Finley.¹

     Sarah Malissa Yoho was born on 1 March 1849 at Guernsey (now Noble) Co., OH. She was the daughter of William Henry Yoho and Lucretia Long. Sarah Malissa Yoho married Harrison Starr, son of John Starr and Elizabeth Wendell, on 5 September 1867 at Noble Co., OH.
Note: After Harrison Starr's death in 1874, his wife Sarah and his four children moved in with his brother Laban's family (Laban's wife Ellen was Sarah's sister). Later, Sarah remarried Joseph O'Dell. Sarah Malissa Yoho died on 18 December 1884 at age 35.

     William Henry Yoho was born on 11 May 1818 at Ohio.¹ He was the son of Jacob Yoho and Margaret Dailey.¹ William Henry Yoho married Lucretia Long, daughter of James Long and Rachel Crownover, on 31 May 1840 at Guernsey Co., OH. William Henry Yoho died on 25 August 1881 at Wirt Co., WV, at age 63. He was buried in August 1881 at Limestone Cemetery, Wirt Co., WV.

Layman and Lillie Moomaw, on 22 June 1922.¹ Dr. Samuel H. Yokely lived in 1926 at Meadow View, Washington Co., VA.¹

     Caroline C. Yontz was born on 11 March 1819 at Washington Co., MD.¹ She married Abram Thomas on 3 February 1842 at Washington Co., MD. Caroline C. Yontz died on 30 January 1880 at age 60. She was buried in February 1880 at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Ogle Co., IL.

     Elizabeth Yordy married Christian Hershey, son of Abraham Hershey and Elizabeth Landis.

     Eunice Grace Yordy was born on 10 June 1912 at Roanoke, Woodford Co., IL. She married Harold Garst Hoover, son of Robert Asa Hoover and Nellie E. Garst, on 3 October 1937 at Heyworth, McLean Co., IL. Eunice Grace Yordy died on 5 October 1999 at Bloomington, McLean Co., IL, at age 87.

     Ephraim R. Yorgey married Hannah L. (?).¹

     Mary B. Yorgey was born in December 1866 at Pennsylvania.² She was the daughter of Ephraim R. Yorgey and Hannah L. (?)¹ Mary B. Yorgey married William P. Bach, son of William P. Bach and Elizabeth May, in 1889.¹ Mary B. Yorgey died on 17 July 1915 at age 48.¹

     Carrie Dee York was born on 2 March 1908 at Kentucky.¹ She married Henry Norton Oliver. Carrie Dee York died on 7 June 1988 at San Bernardino Co., CA, at age 80. She was buried in June 1988 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA, Findagrave #147156872.

     Edna E. York was born on 2 August 1906 at Edmonson Co. (probably), KY.¹ She was the daughter of William M. York and Nancy Jane Vincent.¹ Edna E. York married John Clifford Semler, son of Henry William Semler and Effie Jane Gebhart, on 30 January 1936 at Greencastle, Putnam Co., IN. Edna E. York died on 15 February 1977 at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Clark Co., OH, at age 70

Mrs. Edna E. Semler, 69, of 115 Davis Ave., Enon, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.

Surviving are her husband, John C; a son, Jerry K. Ashworth of Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kinser of Bowling Green, Ky. And Mrs. Angie Dallon of Fairborn; a brother, Carl York of Brownsville, Ky; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Aero Chapter No. 536, OES, and Lilly Rebekah Lodge No 416, all of Fairborn.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, by the Rev. David Schwab with burial in Fairfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

     Lucinda York was born in 1842 at Illinois. She married Joseph Hoy on 19 August 1858 at Crawford Co., IL. Lucinda York died on 20 January 1916. She was buried in January 1916 at High Creek Cemetery, Rock Port, Atchison Co., MO, Findagrave #66345413.

     Marie Melva York was born on 14 January 1919 at Buffalo, Leon Co., TX; daughter of Ozzie B. and Mattie (Willard) York. She married Elbert Dean Brown, son of Otis Elbert Brown and Pearl L. Welch; Elbert later remarried to Leona Mae Steffan (1922-1996), daughter of Frank A. and Agnes J. (Schuh) Steffan, with whom he is buried at Winfield, Kansas. Melva remarried to Myrlon J. "Jack" Barton before April 1950 and had a daughter, Dianna Lynn Barton, on 7 OCT 1954. Melva and Jack Barton are buried in Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Harris County, Texas.

Marie Melva York and Elbert Dean Brown were divorced before April 1950. Marie Melva York died on 9 March 2007 at age 88

Melva Marie Barton

Melva Marie Barton of Dickinson, Texas, passed away the morning of March 9th, 2007. She was 87 years of age and is survived by her son, Robert Brown of Winfield, Kansas and daughter, Diana Hamrick of Seabrook, Texas.

She was known to her family and friends as Marie and was born to Mattie and Ozzie York on January 14, 1920, in Buffalo, Texas.

She was fortunate to have had the joy of 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She lived a rich, full, life, married to Jack Barton for over 35 years and working joyously for Clear Creek ISD as the pastry manager. She had many loving friends and was a devoted lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she could be seen on many occasions dancing with her close friend, Jerry. She will be deeply missed.

The celebration of her life will be held at graveside services in Webster, Texas at Forest Park East on Tuesday, March 13th at 3:00 P.M.
