"Richard Edgar Brandt died in Port Angeles of respiratory failure. He was 66.
He was born in Edgeley, N.D., to Spencer and Mattie (Foy) Brandt.
He married Lavonne Carlson in Detroit Lakes, Minn., on June 19, 1958.
Mr. Brandt worked in the oilfields of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, for 22 years.
He belonged to the Eagles and sponsored a race car at the Port Angeles Speedway for several years.
Mr. Brandt, who was a country-western cowboy at heart, also liked fishing, ice skating and bowling.

The funeral for Spencer Brandt, 86, Jamestown, N.D., will be at 2 Monday in Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with burial in Edgeley, N.D. Visitation will be from noon to 9 today and from 9 until time of services Monday in the
Funeral Chapel.
He died Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995. Mr. Brandt was born June 14, 1909 in Ipswich, S. D. He grew up and attended school in Wacota, S.D., Jud, N.D., and Adrian, N.D. He married Helen Justesen in January 1936 in Litchville, N.D. She died in 1936. On June 14, 1939, he married Mattie Foy in Aberdeen, S.D. They lived on a farm near Nortonville, N.D. In 1947 they moved to Litchville and farmed until 1952, when they moved to Sanborn, N.D., and operated Brandt Grocery until 1958. They returned to Litchville and farmed until 1962, when they moved to Jamestown, where they lived for one year.
In 1963 they moved to Logansport, Ind., where he was a storekeeper at the State Hospital. They returned to Jamestown in 1973 and then moved to Washington, where he ran the Brandt Swap Shop, a second hand store, until 1987, when they returned to Litchville. In 1994, they moved to Jamestown.
