Mary L. Fuller

SPRINGFIELD.-- Mary Louise Fuller, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Divernon, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Heritage Manor.

She was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Springfield, the daughter of John William and Clara Belle Gibbons Brown. Three husbands, Oscar Lane, Troy Wise and Elmore "Bo" Fuller, preceded her in death. Four sons, Gerald and Chuck Lane and Mike and Troy Wise, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fuller worked at a defense plant in Illiopolis during World War II and was a clerk for the Divernon Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors: two sons, Bill (wife, Linda) and Don (wife Ruth) Lane, both of Colorado; four daughters, Marilyn Lane, Judy Reeves and Verna Sue Wise, all of Springfield, and Carole (husband, Edson) Caspar of Crystal Lake; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, Branley Funeral Home, Divernon, the Rev. Peter Wehrly officiating. Burial: Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.

She was buried in July 2005 at Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon, Sangamon Co., IL, Findagrave #25711269.

Meryle L. Barnes, 66, of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Harvey L. and Lula D. Joy Brown. She was born May 14, 1938 at Woodward, Oklahoma and died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On December 27, 1976, she and Hebe P. Barnes were married in Arkansas City, Kansas. Her husband preceded her in death on January 7, 1994. She was a furniture upholsterer before retiring in 1992. Meryle lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before moving to the Perry community nine years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Rev. Buddy Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in Morris Heights Cemetery at Orlando, Oklahoma under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Diabetes Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Survivors are one son, Charles Howard Lackey Jr., of Ft. Worth, Texas; one daughter, Donna J. Lummus, of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Pearl Shelton, of Perry, Oklahoma and Ruby Harlow, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, H.P. Barnes, and her parents, Harvey and Lula Brown, Meryle was preceded in death by two half brothers, Richard Day and Lewis Day.

DEATHS REPORTED

Nina Winterstein, 78, and Ariel Bunce, 73, both residents of Goldendale, passed away. Bunce expired Tuesday afternoon and Mrs. Winterstein Wednesday morning. At press time Wednesday afternoon The Sentinel was unable to secure information in regard to relatives or funeral arrangements.

MINA C. WINTERSTEIN

Mina Catherine Brown was born April 10, 1885 in Horseshoe Bend west of Goldendale and passed from this life March 18, 1964 up the Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale at the age of 78 years, 11 month and 8 days.

She spent all of her life in the Goldendale and Centerville communities. She was the eldest daughter of Thomas and Mary Brown, old pioneers of the area. She married Steven Ralph Winterstein at the home of her parents on January 13, 1907 and it to this union were born two sons, Jack and Vernon.

Vernon passed away on May 15, 1956 and Jack followed the death of his mother closely. Her husband preceded her in death in April 1952. Her two sisters also preceded her in death.

She leaves behind to mourn her passing, one brother, Ralph A. Brown of Goldendale and a host of relatives and friends.

She has long been a Christian and a strong believer. She was a kind, loving wife and mother and a true friend. She will be greatly missed in the community.

She was buried in March 1964 at Spring Creek Cemetery, Goldendale, Klickitat Co., WA.
