As of the 1900 census, she reported they were married 12 years, and there were no children born. This means that of the two sons shown on the 1910 census, the 13-year old was certainly adopted, and it is likely that the 9-year old was also. It is also strange that the number of years of marriage shown on the 1910 census is only 14, whereas it was already 12 years as of the 1900 census. DLB 2012.

Bernice Chinowth

ATLANTA (PNS) - Bernice Chinowth, 86, of Atlanta, associated in the Carrollton grocery business as a clerk for 50 years, died at 8:17 a.m. yesterday (July 19, 1983) at the Christian Nursing Home, Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Carrollton, the Rev. Don Galehr and the Rev. Marshall Werry officiating. Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, had charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Chinowth was born July 2, 1897, at Wrights, a daughter of Calvin and Henrietta Cunningham Carter. She married Leland Chinowth May 8, 1922 at Carrollton. He died July 4, 1970.

Surviving are two sons, Robert, Atlanta, and Richard, Greenfield; a brother, Howard Carter, Carrollton, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Chinowth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lincoln or to the Christian Nursing Home.

She was buried in July 1983 at Carrollton City Cemetery, Carrollton, Greene Co., IL, Findagrave #52608231.

Betty L. Dolman, 76, of Everett, wife of Allen Dolman, passed away September 28. Betty was born at Warm Beach on January 9, 1930, to Ed and Nora Carter. Betty was a long time employee of Simpson Paper Company, and she enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; brother, Jack; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, Harlan Carter; and sister, Alice Tracy.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Solie Chapel, 3301 Colby Avenue, with reception following in the Fireside room. After reception proceed to Cypress Lawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Solie Funeral Home.

She was buried in 2006 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, Snohomish Co., WA, Findagrave #15988297.
