It appears that Uneta was inadvertently omitted -- perhaps she was not yet named and thus no name was given to the enumerator and he failed to note the discrepance. DLB 2015. She was the daughter of Thomas F. Carnes and Minnie Mae Scott.1 Uneta Fern Carnes married Clarence Emerson Stouffer, son of Albert Vinton Stouffer and Nellie Jane Conrad, on 8 January 1917 at Thermopolis, Hot Springs Co., WY, Date and location per Blair Family Tree genealogy prepared by mblair940, online at ancestry.com. 1930 census info indicates a marriage date closer to 1919 (11 years prior). DLB 2015. Uneta Fern Carnes lived on 4 April 1940 at 314 Spruce Street, Gordon, Sheridan Co., NE, Clarence was not listed with the rest of the family. He was born in Noble County, July 8, 1883, the son of James and Mary Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter attended the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Starr Carpenter; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Edith) Stephen, of Winterset; Mrs. Denver (Eleanor) Carpenter, of Quaker City, Route 4; Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Huntsman, of Barnesville, and Mrs. Donald (Norma Lee) Stephens, of Jerusalem, Route 1; four sons, Ellis, Wesley and Jimmie Carpenter, of Barnesville, and Lawrence Carpenter, of Lebanon, Pa; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Campbell Plumly Funeral Home at Barnesville, with Evangelist James Gallagher officiating. Burial was in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
