Oarie L. Knechtges, 80, of Rantoul, formerly of Farmer City, died at 7 a.m. Sunday (June 12, 2016) at Country Health Care and Rehabilitation, Gifford.
Oarie was born on Oct. 16, 1935 in Hertford, North Carolina, a daughter of James (sic) T. and Rena Grice Castelow. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; infant son and infant daughter; 11 brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Danny Mann.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Paul L. (Marilyn) Knechtges, Cheryl (Donny) Pittman, Billy (Becky) Knechtges, Sue Knechtges and Mary Mann; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and sister, Sandra (Eddie) Hollowell.
Oarie had worked at Burnham Hospital in Champaign for many years as a CNA.
She was a kind and caring person who enjoyed helping others, spending time with her family, and enjoyed singing gospel hymns.

She was buried in June 2016 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, DeWitt Co., IL, Findagrave #164990601.

     Virginia E. Caster married Verle Deen Harger, son of Grover Dale Harger and Nellie Mabel Johnson. Virginia E. Caster lived in 1969 at Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA, city directory listing. She and Verle Deen Harger were divorced in November 1970 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. Virginia E. Caster died before June 2012

Verle Dean Harger, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died June 29, 2012, in Bellflower, Calif., after a long illness. Services were held today at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, Calif.

Verle was born to Grover and Nellie (Johnson) Harger on may 29, 1930, in the back of his parent's grocery store in Urbana, Iowa. During the Depression his parents moved to a farm where he attended a one-room schoolhouse. His family later moved to Cedar Rapids and he graduated in 1946 from Wilson High School.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Rebecca Burner; and brothers, Orland and Harold Harger.

He is survived by a son, Verle Tom Harger (Daneen) of Parker, Colo; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annabell Weaver of Cedar Rapids.

Verle had a tire company in Wilmington, Calif., supplying tires to trucks stranded on the highway. he had this business until he retired.

Verle loved his Lord and considered everyone he met a friend. He was generous to a fault.
