     Fredrick Donavan Christensen was born on 10 April 1922 at Bancroft, Caribou Co., ID. He was the son of Lars Fredrick Christensen and Chloe Jane Call. Fredrick Donavan Christensen married Barbara Louise Croson, daughter of Harvey Ray Croson and Mabel Etta Rhodes, on 6 October 1944 at Bancroft, Caribou Co., ID. Fredrick Donavan Christensen died on 2 August 1997 at Everett, Snohomish Co., WA, at age 75. He was buried on 5 August 1997 at Spokane, Spokane Co., WA.

     Mabel Irene Christianson was born on 20 June 1919 at Navarino Twp., Shawano Co., WI. She married Melvin Hildor Prestrud in 1955. Mabel Irene Christianson died on 22 February 2006 at Shawano, Shawano Co., WI, at age 86

Mabel Irene Prestrud passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 at Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano. Born on June 20, 1919 in the Shawano County Township of Navarino, she was the only child of Otto and Ellen Christianson. As a young single woman Mabel worked at the Shawano Library and during World War II served her country as a ship welder in Sturgeon Bay. Later she worked in the accounting department at the Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville for many years.

In 1955 she married Melvin Prestrud of the Town of Lessor and resided there until moving to Shawano in 1987. Mabels's life centered on the Lutheran Church. She was the organist at Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino for over 32 years and played for many of the services at Lunds Lutheran Church as well.

Over the years she taught piano to many children in the Lessor and Navarino area. She also served as the Secretary of Education for the Conference and District Boards of the American Lutheran Church Women during the '70's which gave her the chance to travel and make friends from around the country. Known for her love of coffee, Mabel wrote "Coffee Cup Christians,' a presentation about faith that she made to many area church women's groups. Mabel's true calling was writing about history and genealogy. She wrote a monthly column titled "Way Back When" for Ascension's newsletter that chronicled the history of Navarino and the lives of the early Norwegian settlers in the area. She compiled extensive genealogies and wrote about the everday lives of the area families back to the late 1800's. She also interpreted Norwegian church records for various publications. Eventually Mabel got her husband engaged in writing stories about days gone by through out extension classes in Shawano, and activity they both enjoyed in their retirement years.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband in 1996.

She is survived by her son David, his wife Sara Grover and two grandsons, Aaron and Alex, all of Apex, N.C; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano, followed by interment at Ascension Lutheran Cemetery in Navarino.

Family and friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday, March 1 from 4 to 8 p.m.

     Ella Elizabeth Christie was born on 27 September 1857 at Rusk Co., TX. She was the daughter of John Christie and Jane Starr. Ella Elizabeth Christie married Walter Adair Starr, son of Joseph McMinn Starr and Delilah Adair, on 16 August 1893. Ella Elizabeth Christie died on 3 September 1897 at age 39.

     Capt. James Julian Christie was born on 22 June 1904 at Beverly, Lincoln Co., KS. He married Mary Sackett Bissell, daughter of Hon. Pelham St. George Bissell and Mary Valentine Yale, on 22 April 1939 at St. Thomas Church, New York City, NY.

     Jennings Christie was born on 18 November 1847 at Indiana. He was the son of Elisha F. Christie and Sarah Pierson. Jennings Christie married Mary Elizabeth Stover, daughter of Samuel Stover and Nancy Lee Daugherty, on 10 September 1885.¹ Jennings Christie died on 21 May 1893 at Putnam Co., IN, at age 45.¹ He was buried in May 1893 at Roachdale Cemetery, Roachdale, Putnam Co., IN, Findagrave #148965936.
