Shaffer is listed on the 1895 Iowa state census, Hancock County, age 64 and born in Pennsylvania, but I cannot confirm she was the wife of Paul Shaffer.

Jewell Stone, 78, of Bowling Green died at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 15, 2004, at a Bowling Green nursing home.

The Taylor County native was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Louisville. She was a daughter of the late Uriel Clark and Laura Smith Clark.

Memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Hame, Lovers Lane chapel. No visitation is scheduled.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Wilson of Bowling Green; three sisters, Lorene Cash of Crestwood, Arlene Tshetter (sic) of South Dakota and Gail Ostergard of North Carolina; three brothers, Adrian Clark of Kentucky, Harold Clark of Louisville and Gary Clark of Shelbyville; a grandson, Philip Meredith and his wife, Angie, of Bowling Green, a granddaughter, Mona Wilson of Michigan; and five great-grandchildren.

John Timothy Clark, Sr., was born December 29, 1934, in Auburn, NE to Earl Timothy and Mary Elizabeth (Wigger) Clark. He received his education in Brownville, NE, and furthered his education at Peru State College. On December 25, 1953, he married Hazel Ann Hoagland in Humboldt, NE. John was employed with Dahlsten Truck Line until his retirement in 2015.

John loved spending time with his family and enjoyed Husker sporting events, fishing, camping and playing cards.

He is survived by his children, John and wife Barb Clark of Auburn, NE; Tom and wife Sandy Clark of Auburn, NE; Pat Clark of Clay Center, NE; Ronda and husband Terry Nolan of Hastings, NE; and Christy Clark and fiancé Benjamin Ayala of Sutton, NE; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel Ann Clark and son, Jeremy Clark.

He was buried in 2021 at Sheridan West Memorial Cemetery, Auburn, Nemaha Co., NE, Findagrave #225135023.
