     Walter William Corns Jr. was born on 20 July 1928 at Richmond Heights, St. Louis Co., MO. He was the son of Walter William Corns and Anne Elizabeth Gorman. Walter William Corns Jr. began military service on 24 March 1952 Korean War service, U.S. Army, enlisted, discharged 23 JAN 1954. He died on 16 July 1984 at St. Charles, St. Charles Co., MO, at age 55. He was buried in 1984 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis Co., MO, Findagrave #37588936.

     William Corns was born on 21 May 1867 at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.¹ He married Mathilda Florian circa 1902, Matilda was first married to Nicholas Winters in Ohio County, West Virginia in 1891, and had three children with him.¹ William Corns died on 24 December 1945 at Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., IN, at age 78. He was buried in December 1945 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., IN, Findagrave #124194108.

     John Cornwall was born after 1730. He was the son of Thomas Cornwall and Anne E. Gale. John Cornwall died before 1777. He married Sarah Talman, daughter of Joseph Talman and Mary Woodward.

Helen Louise Cornwell married David Edward Ward, son of Oscar William Ward and Lucille Mary Temple, on 1 February 1955 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH. Helen Louise Cornwell died on 16 December 1992 at West Jefferson, Madison Co., OH, at age 55.

     Russell Thomas Cornwell was born on 28 October 1904 at Madison Co., OH. He married Naomi Bell Ballard on 7 December 1924 at Madison Co., OH. Russell Thomas Cornwell died on 23 December 1974 at London, Madison Co., OH, at age 70.

     William Sigmon Corpening Jr. was born on 4 November 1923 at Johnson City, Washington Co., TN; son of William Sigmon and Ella (Price) Corpening. He began military service WW II service, U.S. Army, 104th Infantry Div. European Theater. He was educated; Attended Niagara University and East Tennessee State University; graduate of the American Institute of Banking in New York. He married Evelyn Ruth Kitzmiller, daughter of Richard Henry Kitzmiller and Bess Lynette France, on 12 September 1947. Occupation: Senior Vice President of Hamilton Bank, which later became SunTrust Bank. William Sigmon Corpening Jr. died on 25 January 2012 at age 88

William Corpening

William S. Corpening, 88, Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late William Sigmon and Ella Price Corpening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Kitzmiller Corpening.
Mr. Corpening served his country in the United States Army in the 104th infantry division in Europe during WWII. He graduated from Science Hill High School. He attended Niagara University and East Tennessee State University and was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in New York.
Mr. Corpening was a retired Senior Vice President of Hamilton Bank, which later became SunTrust Bank, Vice President of the Johnson City Jr. and Sr. Babe Ruth, past member of Pine Oaks Golf Board, a charter member of the North Johnson City Optimist Club and a member of the Kiwanis noon club for forty years. He was an avid bowler, golfer and UT Vols fan.
He was an Elder, Treasurer, and Sunday School teacher at Locust Street Church of Christ. Mr. Corpening later attended First Christian Church of Johnson City, where he was a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his sons: William Darrell Corpening and wife, Karen, Richard Corpening and wife, Debbie, all of Jonesborough; grandchildren: Kim Dooley and husband, Jeramiah, Charlotte, NC, Kelly Mustain and husband, Matt, Valdosta, GA, Lindsay Corpening, Burbank, CA, Brandon Corpening, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Gretchen Dooley and William Mustain.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the 2500 staff at the Medical Center and to the entire staff at Appalachian Christian Village.

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Corpening will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Dr. Tim Wallingford, Minister, and Mr. Steve Hill, Minster, officiating.
The family will greet friends in the funeral home chapel Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

A Committal and Interment service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park with full Military Honors provided by Boone Dam VFW Post #4933. Active Pallbearers will be Richard Corpening, Darrell Corpening, Jeramiah Dooley, Stephen Garrison, Brandon Corpening, Thomas Garrison, Alex Garrison and John Isaacs. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Cass at First Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make a donation in memory of Mr. Corpening to the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class of First Christian Church (200 Mountcastle Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601).

     Andrew Kauffman Correll married Elizabeth Kauffman, daughter of Michael Kauffman and Barbara Haldeman. Andrew Kauffman Correll was born circa 1755. He was the son of John Correll and Magdalena Kauffman. Andrew Kauffman Correll died circa 1828.

     David Correll was born circa 1765. He was the son of John Correll and Magdalena Kauffman.

     Jacob Kauffman Correll was born circa 1766. He was the son of John Correll and Magdalena Kauffman.

     John Correll married Magdalena Kauffman, daughter of Johann Andreas Kauffman and Elizabeth Kneissle.

     John Kauffman Correll was born circa 1757. He was the son of John Correll and Magdalena Kauffman. John Kauffman Correll died in 1815.

     Mary Cordelia Correll was also known as "Delia".² She was born in March 1876 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Peter M. Correll and Elizabeth S. Jeffries.³ Mary Cordelia Correll married Charles Robert Rankin, son of Charles Gray Rankin and Louisa DaVault, circa 1896.¹ Mary Cordelia Correll died in 1943. She was buried in 1943 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Greeneville, Greene Co., TN.

     Mary Kauffman Correll was born circa 1770. She was the daughter of John Correll and Magdalena Kauffman. Mary Kauffman Correll married Michael Kauffman, son of Michael Kauffman and Magdalena Stauffer, on 27 May 1795 at Lancaster Co., PA. Mary Kauffman Correll died circa 1865.

     Peter M. Correll was born circa 1845 at Virginia.¹ He married Elizabeth S. Jeffries circa 1871.¹

He married WeEtta Mae McCollom, daughter of Bruce William McCollom and Ethel Gladys McCormick, on 29 November 1942 at Nodaway Co., MO.
