Mrs. Jarvis, wife of Mr. L. A. Jarvis, died at her home in North Wilkesboro, early Tuesday morning, after about nine days illness with pneumonia. Up until the last her condition, while serious was not thought to be dangerous, barring the fact, of course pneumonia is always treacherous.
Mrs. Jarvis' maiden name was Miss Delphia Isabella Dacons. She was born at New Hope in Iredell county, March 22, 1855, nearly 55 years ago. On October 8, 1876, she was united in marriage to Mr. Jarvis and to this union were born ten children, seven of whom survive. The surviving children are Mrs. L. N. Hickerson, of Reidsville, Misses Florence, Tois and Helen, and Messers. Cleve D. and Chester, and Master George.
At an early age, Mrs. Jarvis professed faith in Christ and allied herself with the Baptist church, holding her membership first at Grassy Knob and later at North Wilkesboro. She was in every way a noble hearted Christian woman, whose exemplary life was an inspiration to those with whom she came in contact.
At the end, she expressed her preparedness to pass, and left to the stricken family nothing but solicting hope and comfort.
The funeral was conducted this morning at the home, by Rev. C. M. Rock, after which the body was laid to rest at the Baptist cemetery, in North Wilkesboro.

George Dade lived on 8 June 1880 at Windsor Twp., Fayette Co., IA, Farming.¹ He died after January 1885 George and Elizabeth are last found listed in the 1885 Iowa state census, Fayette County.

     Margaret Elizabeth Dade was born on 4 March 1914.¹ She was the daughter of Charles W. Dade and Blanche Winifred Dubbel. Margaret Elizabeth Dade died on 8 March 1914.¹

     Carol Lynn Dady was born on 16 March 1933 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN; daughter of James Homer and Grace (Townsend) Simmons. She lived in 1977 at Scottsdale, Maricopa Co., AZ. She lived in 1995 at Flagstaff, Coconino Co., AZ. She lived in 2003 at Scottsdale, Maricopa Co., AZ, per her mother's obituary. She died on 14 January 2009 at Maricopa Co. (probably), AZ, at age 75.

     Barbara Elizabeth Daecher was born in 1674. She was the daughter of Hermann Daecher and Anna Catharina (?)¹ Barbara Elizabeth Daecher married Johann George Weicher.¹

     Hermann Daecher was born at Grosse Gera, Hesse Darmstadt.¹ He married Anna Catharina (?).¹

Donovan Vaughn Dafoe Sr., 64, died Aug. 5, 2006.

He was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Spokane, Wash. to Donovan Elmer and Bernadine Wendel Dafoe.

He graduated from Salida High School in 1959. After graduation he served four years in the U.S. Navy as a fire control technician stationed aboard the USS Bausell.

He married Barbara Golden in 1960 in Grand Junction.

He lived in Delta, Utah, from 1964-2002 where he worked as an Electronics Technician for AT&T for 36 years. He was mayor of Delta City for eight years. He married Rose Williams and returned to Salida in 2002.

He was an accomplished wood turner and photographer and enjoyed working in his yard, riding his all terrain vehicle, flying model airplanes and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Williams Dafoe of Salida; his children, Kathy (Kevin) Morris, Hinckley, Utah; Karen (Gary) Shurtz, Sutherland, Utah; Wayne (Wendy) Dafoe, Denver; Gail (Keith) Meinhardt, Oak City, Utah; Kristine (Sean) Thomas, Deseret, Utah; Donovan (Aileen) Dafoe, Spanish Fork, Utah; Danielle (Gavin) Wright, Santaquin, Utah; Diane (Jason) Cowley, Sandy, Utah; his brother David (Ginger) Dafoe, Tenino, Washington; his sister Darlene Dafoe, Tenino, Washington; stepson, Troy (Julie) Donahoo, Denver; stepdaughter, Deana Donahoo, Salida; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son Wesley.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 9, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1040 Poncha Blvd., Salida.

Viewing will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be Aug. 12, 2006, in the Delta City Cemetery, Delta, Utah.
