My Dear Lynn:

I have been looking for a line from you all summer as you said you would write me real often, when you went home. Anyway, I surely hope you are all O.K. and only too busy to write.

I am still at Bayard, think I shall try and keep my home for a while. Anyway, until I can find a buyer.

Cecile and little Bill are still with me, don't believe I could keep house with out them, for they are so much company. I get so lonely at times. I hardly know just what to do with myself, but must make the best of things, just as they are.

I have two rooms rented, one to the English teacher that lived with us last year and the other to a little girl that works at the Drug store. Have one more room to rent, think I can rent it to a factory girl, then I can see my way through for this winter at least. I have been doing some sewing, and go out nursing when ever I am called, which I like very much, and hope I can get enough work to keep me busy. Then I don't have so much time to think about things that cannot be helped.

Billy is doing very well in his school work this year. He is in the 6th grade. He has been wanting a saxophone so he can play in the school orchestra, but his mother thinks she can't afford one just now. Don't know just how they will come out, but suppose he will get a saxophone by and by.

I sold the shotgun last week. I disliked very much to see it go, as we have had some real good hunts with that old gun.

Would like to sell the Dodge before winter. I have never had the car out of the garage since the day your father drove it in for me. And that was the last time we shopped together -- on the 15th day of March. Well I recall that day. Do you think the car is worth $75.00 or not? And Lynn, I am wondering just how I can give a bill of sale if I should sell the car. Any advice from you, Lynn, would surely be appreciated. And I hope you will find time to write me soon.

Dorothy is ill with a very bad cold, was not able to work Saturday afternoon, she is working at Ericson Cash Store. Marjory is teaching at Mitchell this year. She came home Friday. Maude was to take her back this afternoon in the car.

Lynn, I wrote you a letter some time in May, but never received an answer. I surely hope you will find time to write me a line this time as I would be pleased to hear from you.

MRS. W. P. DEVAULT DIES AT ALLIANCE LAST WEDNESDAY

Mrs. W. P. DeVault passed away very unexpectedly at the home of a sister in Alliance Wednesday morning where she had gone on October 26, to assist in caring for her. The sister having improved in health, Mrs. DeVault was expected to return home this week.
She had been a sufferer from bronchitis for a number of years, but her condition was never thought to have been serious, although friends who knew her best state that she had not been at all well for some time, altho she never complained.
Mrs. DeVault was born in Alliance on June 30, 1893 and was married to W. P. DeVault April 14, 1920, who passed away last spring.
During her life in Bayard she has made many friends who will sincerely regret her untimely death.
She leaves to mourn her passing her father, M. F. Donovan, five brothers, and one sister living in Alliance and one sister living in Scottsbluff. We have no information as to the time of the funeral which will be held in Alliance.

Cecil Donovan was born on 30 June 1893 at Alliance, Box Butte Co., NE. She was the daughter of Millard Donovan and Zella (?) Cecil Donovan married William Peter DeVault, son of Henry Davault and Caroline Euphemia Clark, on 14 April 1920. Cecil Donovan died on 6 November 1929 at Alliance, Box Butte Co., NE, at age 36. She was buried in November 1929 at Alliance Cemetery, Alliance, Box Butte Co., NE.

     Dean Francis Donovan was born on 26 January 1951 at Mower Co., MN. He married Deborah Lee Turvey, daughter of Floyd Milton Turvey and Delores Jean Moses, Dean remarried to Beverly Hammon in 1979. Deborah remarried to Cephas Agbey in 1980. Dean Francis Donovan and Deborah Lee Turvey were divorced on 22 June 1978 at Hennepin Co., MN. Dean Francis Donovan died on 11 November 1995 at Anoka Co., MN, at age 44. He was buried in November 1995 at Epiphany Catholic Cemetery, Coon Rapids, Anoka Co., MN, Findagrave #7115013.

     Julia G. Donovan was born on 15 August 1886. She married Joseph M. Touhey in 1907. Julia G. Donovan died on 15 January 1966 at age 79. She was buried in January 1966 at Saint Brigid Cemetery, Xenia, Greene Co., OH, Findagrave #53888355.

     Lucille Donovan was born on 13 April 1902 at Carroll Twp., Vermilion Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of William O. Donovan and Jerusha Molt.¹ Lucille Donovan died on 23 September 1962 at Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL, at age 60. She was buried in September 1962 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL.

     Mary C. Donovan was born in 1853 at Ohio. She married Peter Callison, son of Arthur Callison and Mary Margaret Leffel, on 24 August 1869 at Clark Co., OH. Mary C. Donovan died on 30 October 1928 at Yellow Springs, Greene Co., OH.

     Millard Donovan married Zella (?).

     Samuel P. Donovan was born circa 1830 at Illinois.¹ He married Sarah Jane Rolland on 8 February 1874 at Vermilion Co., IL.¹

     Vernon M. Donovan was born on 18 February 1904 at Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL. He was the son of William O. Donovan and Jerusha Molt. Vernon M. Donovan died on 31 March 1906 at Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL, at age 2. He was buried in April 1906 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL.

     William O. Donovan was born on 25 October 1877 at Vermilion Co., IL.¹ He was the son of Samuel P. Donovan and Sarah Jane Rolland.² William O. Donovan married Jerusha Molt, daughter of Charles Molt and Keziah Holzhausen, on 6 December 1899 at Vermilion Co., IL, three children born, two living as of 1910 census.¹

William O. Donovan died on 6 November 1941 at Vermilion Co., IL, at age 64. He was buried in November 1941 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola, Vermilion Co., IL.

     Alex Doohan was born circa 1864 at New Jersey.¹ He married Florence (?) circa 1900.¹

     Patrick Doohan was born on 10 April 1908 at Clay Co. (probably), SD.¹ He was the son of Alex Doohan and Florence (?)¹ Patrick Doohan married Bertha Marie Windle, daughter of William Windle and Bertha Irene Phelps, on 28 February 1932 at Elk Point, South Dakota. Patrick Doohan died on 8 October 1983 at age 75. He was buried in October 1983 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Woodbury Co., IA.

     Edward W. Dooley was born in September 1875 at Ohio per 1900 census, or 1875 per headstone.¹ He married Mary Corbett on 8 November 1898 at Madison Co., OH. Edward W. Dooley died in 1954. He was buried in 1954 at St. Patricks Cemetery, London, Madison Co., OH, Findagrave #73381232.

Dooley and Mary Corbett.¹ Mark Leroy Dooley married Theureda Mae Boots, daughter of Stephen Boots and Anna Buskirk, on 8 June 1927 at Pickaway Co., OH. Mark Leroy Dooley died on 30 August 1962 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH, at age 63.      Mary Ann Dooley was born on 31 October 1928 at London, Madison Co., OH. She was the daughter of Mark Leroy Dooley and Theureda Mae Boots. Born October 31, 1928 in London, Ohio, passed away at her home in Frisco, Texas on December 24, 2006 at the age of 78. Mary Ann lived in Miamisburg, Ohio until she retired from Irongate Realtors in 2002 after years of service as a realtor. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Henry Church, a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital, and past member of W.C. Lioness Club. She is survived by her son, Ron Becker and wife Dru of Lincoln, Nebraska, Rick Becker and his wife Peggy of Waynesville, Ohio; daughters, Coni Dallhamer of Beavercreek, Ohio, Mindy Luzius and husband Phil of Frisco, Texas; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Theureda (Boots) and Mark L. Dooley; and husband, William E. Becker. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM.      Eileen Marie Dora was born on 6 July 1927. She married Warren O. Miessen. Eileen Marie Dora died on 30 January 2009 at age 81 Obituary (Findagrave.com):

Eileen Dora Miessen 81, of Indianapolis, passed away January 30, 2009. She was born July 6, 1927 to the late John R. and Ida Elizabeth (Berth) Dora. Eileen graduated from Warren Central High School and attended classes at Layne Business College. She married Warren O. Miessen in 1947. Eileen was a sales representative for Ryerson Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1992. She was an active volunteer for Community Hospital East since 1994.

Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Warren O. Miessen; son, Jerry (Tammy) Miessen; grandsons, Thomas, Eric and Jesse Miessen; granddaughter, Teri Ann Miessen. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Miessen; brother, John Dora and sister, Janet Hall.
