     Mary Alice Edwards was also known as "Alice". She was born on 23 March 1872 at Clay Co., IL; daughter of William Henry and Rachel (Johnson) Edwards. She married Henry E. Tyler, son of Adam Jefferson Tyler and Elizabeth Jane Engleman, on 1 February 1890 at Indiana; after Henry's death, Alice remarried to William J. Martin in 1916. Mary Alice Martin Dies

Mary Alice Martin passed away at 1:00 a.m. Sunday at the Dave Gresham residence on Mitchell, R.R. 3 (Lawrenceport), where she resided. She was 87.

Mrs. Martin had been in failing health for several years and critically ill for two months. She formerly resided with a son, Lisman Tyler, on Ninth street and also resided on Tenth street, Bedford.

Mrs. Martin was born March 23, 1872, in Clay County, Ill., to William Henry and Rachel Edwards. She was first married to Henry Tyler in 1889 and he died in 1915. Her second marriage was in 1918 (sic) to William J. Martin, and he preceded her in death in 1945.

Survivors include one son, Lisman Tyler, Bedford, R.R. 1; three brothers – Isaac Edwards of Oolitic, John Edwards of Oolitic and Herbert Edwards of Indio, Calif; one sister, Lillie Lisman and Carlisle, Indiana; one granddaughter, Phyllis Turner of Indianapolis, and one great-granddaughter, Donna Lee Turner of Indianapolis.

The deceased was a member of the Georgetown Christian Church. Final rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenneth Griffith, pastor of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery (Floyd County, Indiana).

Friends may call at any time at the Day & Carter Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kate Giesler, aged 78 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. M. Whitten, 417 West First avenue, Tuesday noon and the remains will be forwarded to Temple, her old home, for interment. The funeral services will be held at Temple Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock with interment there.

She was the last charter member of the First Christian church at Temple. Mrs. Geisler (sic) was born in Virginia but has resided in Texas for half a century, living at Temple for many years. She, with her husband, Dr. D. A. Geisler (sic), have made their home here since September.

Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. R. M. Wynne, Bay City; Mrs. R. M. Whitten, Corsicana; Mrs. Joe T. Bonner, Temple; Mrs. Benton McMillan, Zavalla; one son, G. B. Giesler, Temple; 10 grandchildren and other relatives.

Mrs. Giesler had been an invalid for two years.

     Nancy Edwards was born on 12 February 1840 at Liberty, Fairfield Co., OH. She was the daughter of Harmon Edwards and Missouri Gilmore. Nancy Edwards married Richard W. Watson on 13 December 1860 at Coleta, Whiteside Co., IL. Nancy Edwards died in January 1917 at age 76.

     Pauline Bernice Edwards was born on 5 December 1957. She was the daughter of Thomas Cornelius Edwards and Dorothy Belle Windle. Pauline Bernice Edwards died on 15 November 1994 at age 36. Reuben Brumfield Edwards married Emma Rank on 13 September 1868 at Carroll Co., IL. Reuben Brumfield Edwards married Mary Whitenack on 22 January 1884 at Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co., IL. Reuben Brumfield Edwards died on 19 June 1900 at age 54.

     Richard F. Edwards was born in August 1860 at Macoupin Co. (probably), IL. He was the son of Eldridge S. Edwards and Martha Carr Kitzmiller. Richard F. Edwards died on 28 February 1936 at Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 75. He was buried in March 1936 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Los Angeles Co., CA.

     Robert James Edwards was born on 10 June 1922 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA.¹ He was the son of James Albert Edwards and Annette Jeannette Wagner.¹ Robert James Edwards married Bette Jean Stewart, daughter of Ralph Stewart and Margaretta Robertson Hastings, on 11 October 1943 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA. Robert James Edwards lived in 1992 at West Des Moines, Polk Co., IA. He died on 16 July 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Polk Co., IA, at age 82.

     Robert Lee Edwards was also known as "Lee". He was born on 12 November 1890 at Indianola, Pittsburg Co., Indian Territory (now OK). He married Rosa Clemens Martin on 21 December 1915 at Lamar, Hughes Co., OK; Ceremony by Rev. H. S. Kline, Minister, Lamar Church of Christ. License issue reported in the 30 DEC 1915 edition of the Hughes County Tribune, Holdenville, Oklahoma, page 3, column 4 (Newspapers.com). An Oklahoma marriage record exists for a marriage of Rosa Martin to Royal Edina Ramsay on 7 JAN 1912 at Pittsburg County. But she remarried in 1915 using her maiden name so the first marriage was apparently annulled. From that first marriage, she had a son, Winford John Ramsey (1913-1994), who was listed in the 1930 and 1940 censuses in the household of Rosa's father at Bucklucksy.

Dwyer, daughter of Harvey M. Dwyer and Martha Ellen Easterheld, on 25 September 1924 at Kay Co., OK. Roy Franklin Edwards lived on 16 April 1930 at Arkansas City, Cowley Co., KS.¹ He died in 1955.
