Samantha Catherine Essex died on 2 October 1912 at Outville, Licking Co., OH, at age 84 OBITUARY #2 - The Granville (Ohio) Times, Thursday, October 10, 1912
Mrs. S. Larimore
On Friday afternoon, October the 4, at half past one an unusually beautiful and impressive service was held over all that was mortal of Mrs. S. C. Larimore at her late home in Outville.
Love and sympathy found mute expression in the profusion of beautiful floral offerings which loving hands had arranged about the casket and was further voiced in the musical selections exquisitely rendered by Rev. and Mrs. Wright. The services were conducted by Rev. M. A. Wright, who spoke in tender and comforting words which fell like a benediction of healing on the sore hearts of the family.
During the last illness of eleven months she manifested to all the increased gentleness of manner the Christian resignation the serene and steadfast look forward to the hereafter with a certain hope of a happy reunion with her lived ones on the other shore.
"They never quite leave us, our friends who have passed,
Through the shadow of death to the sunlight above;
A thousand sweet memories holding them fast,
To the places they blessed with their presence and love."
She leaves to mourn her death two sons: William Larimore of Kirkersville, Frank G. Larimore of Columbus, and two daughters, Mrs. Frank P. Leatherman and Miss Belle of Outville.
Mrs. Samantha Catherine Larimore, wife of the late Daniel Larimore was the daughter of Isaac and Anna Essex of Etna, Ohio. She was the last one of twelve children. Born June 8, 1828, died October 2, 1912.
She was buried in October 1912 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville, Licking Co., OH.

Rev. Henry M. Essick was born on 1 April 1819.1 He married Lydia Rinewalt, daughter of Adam Rinewalt and Hannah Price, on 15 November 1842.1 Rev. Henry M. Essick died on 20 March 1859 at age 39 From the minutes of the 39th Session of the Northumberland Baptist Association, held with the Moreland Church, Lycoming Co., Pa., Aug. 19-20, 1859:
"We have reason to bless the Lord of the harvest that only one preacher of the Gospel -- Henry Essick -- has been called to cease from his labors and render his account. Br. Essick was born in Chester Co., and at the age of fourteen was converted. He was baptized by Thomas C. Teasdale and became a member of the Windsor Baptist Church in his native county. He was licensed by that church as a preacher of the Gospel at the age of twenty and after several years spent in study at Germantown and Madison University, he was ordained in the summer of 1842 as pastor of the Baptist Church at Newtown. Having spent about 2½ years with that church he became pastor of the Dover church near York, then of a small church in Lancaster city; then of Colerain church in Lancaster Co., and lastly of the Derry, Moreland, and Madison churches in this Association. He spent about ten years in the active duties of the ministry, when he was laid aside from his loved work by a painful disease. In 3½ years he ceased to suffer and entered into rest on March 9, 1859. He possessed correct and exalted views of the divine administration; was a good preacher and a faithful pastor. He was buried close by the place he last preached Jesus."1
