Henry W. Enlow

OWENSVILLE, April 27.-- Henry W. Enlow, 48, World war veteran of near Elberfeld, and son of Mrs. Emma Taylor of Owensville, died of heart disease in the Marine hospital in Evansville Friday.

Other survivors are the widow, Mrs. Sadie Enlow; four daughters, Maxine, Jacqueline, Cleavia Jean and Virginia Lee; three sons, Winfred, Bobby and Jimmy; a brother, Bert of Elberfeld and 10 step-sisters and step-brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home in charge of the Rev. A. L. Luttrull. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel cemetery.

Last Rites Held For Lt. Enlow

Last rites were held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Elberfeld for Lt. John W. Enlow, whose remains were brought from overseas on the transport Robert Burns. Lt. Enlow was killed in action March 16, 1945 at Girgenbrath (sic), Germany.

He had served with the 99th Division, Co. D, 393 Infantry Regiment, in England, Belgium and Germany. Prior to going overseas he had received training at Camp Van Dorn, Miss., and Camp Maxey, Texas.

Lt. Enlow was killed in battle after a safe crossing of the Rhine river. He was first wounded in the feet, which was not a fatal injury. However, while being carried to the ambulance, he was hit in the chest and was killed instantly. The bullet that killed him was fired not farther away than 25 yards.

Lt. Enlow was known to many of his friends as "Bud." He was a very quiet and kind boy. All who knew him learned to love him. While at home flowers and music occupied his leisure time. He could play any kind of string music, his favorite instrument being the violin. He had appeared on radio programs many times and had a band of his own, the "Ditney Ramblers."

He entered service Dec. 9, 1942. He put his whole heart in the Army and was proud of his promotions which he won the hard way.

Escort for Lt. Enlow was 2d Lt. William K. Spurlin of Florida. The American Legion, Post 351, was in charge of the military rites. Rev. Logan Weaver, formerly an Army chaplain, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Joe Boyers, Clifford Engelhardt, Roy Nicholson, Robert Lochmueller, Howell Wheaton and Eddie Adstedt. Interment was in Wesley Chapel cemetery, with a police car as an escort for the funeral cars.

Lt. Enlow is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sadie Trousdale; a step-father, Robert Trousdale; a son, John W., Jr; two brothers, Jimmy and Bobbie; four sisters, Mrs. Maxine Wade of Mt. Vernon, Jacqueline Cleiva Jean and Ginger Enlow of Elberfeld, and two half-brothers, Teddy Wayne and Robert Flether (sic) Trousdale.

He was buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Boonville, Warrick Co., IN, Findagrave #11224536.

Bonnie June Brundage, 90, passed from this life on Monday, June 10, 2013, at her daughter's home in Urbandale, IA.

Bonnie was born on May 29, 1923, in Knoxville, IA to John and Alberta (Wendel) Ennis. She attended Melcher-Dallas High School and was employed with Meredith Printing/RR Donnelly, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of Bookbinder Local 77 and the Union Park Baptist Church in Des Moines, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Bonne enjoyed watching television game shows and Atlanta Braves baseball. She traveled with her sister to Ireland, the family homeland. She liked to garden and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bonne will be missed by her daughters, Sheryl Houk and Jo Anna Houk, both of Urbandale; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Fitzgerald of Glenwood.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Brundage; parents; and brothers, Leland, Clifford, Dean, and Paul Ennis.

AST LIVERPOOL - Guy Homer Ensinger Jr., formerly of West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, passed away at 9:37 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at East Liverpool Convalescent Center No. 1, following a lengthy illness. He was 87.

A lifetime area resident, he was born in Minerva, Ohio, on July 15, 1921, the son of the late Lucille Reeves Ensinger and Guy Homer Ensinger, Sr.

A 1939 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he served with the U.S. Army in New Guinea and the Phillipines with the 29th Evacuation Hospital during World War II.

He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in East Liverpool and worked as a mold maker at the Hall China Company for 42 years. He also belonged to Glenmoor American Legion Post No. 374, where he had been a charter member.

Preceding him in death on Jan. 6, 2004, was his wife, Betty Lee Frazier Ensinger.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald H. Ensinger and his wife, Cassie, of Calcutta, and Larry R. Ensinger and his wife, Linda, of Bowling Green, Ohio. There is one sister, Mary Adney, of East Liverpool; and three sisters-in-law, Grace Rice, Patricia and Rosemarie Ensinger. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Jeff Ensinger and his wife, Dina; Doug Ensinger and his wife, Julie; Sean Ensinger and his wife, Tina; and Pam Antos and her husband, Bill. There are also nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Also preceding him in death are two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Ensinger.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 4-8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group along with the West Virginia Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. The family will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for continued fellowship.
