James Craig "Jay" Boyd (1872 - 1943)

Jay Boyd was born and lived most of his life at Mt. Vernon, Iowa.  He took over the lumberyard business from his father and operated it until he sold it in the early 1900s.  He lived his final years at Eldora, in Hardin County, Iowa.

Jay Boyd is on the far right, with son Donald, grandson Donald Jr., wife Mabel, and father in-law William Shirer. Given dad's birth month of May, 1923, this must have been in the fall of 1923 or early spring 1924.
