Mrs. J. Fred (Samantha Faye) Mathias, 74, Brushy Fork Rd., Sugar Grove, formerly of Logan, died early Wednesday morning at the home of her son John Mathias of Marengo.

Surviving are her husband, J. Fred Mathias; two sons, John of Marengo and Robert of Granville; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Henry of New Albany, Mrs. William (Darlene) Dorris and Mrs. William (Norma) Rickner, both of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; three step-brothers, William Westfall of Columbus, Fred Westfall of New Lexington and Percy Westfall of Junction City, and a stepsister Mrs. Esta Cooperrider of Mansfield.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sheridan Funeral Home, Lancaster, with the Rev. Edna B. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Drum Chapel Cemetery near Thornville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today and after 1 p.m. Friday.
