A graveside service for Nellie Ide Henry, 98, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Rd. Newark, with pastor Bill Wayt officiating.

Mrs. Henry, a retiree of Owens Corning of 31 years, passed away August 29, 2009, at Flint Ridge Rehab Center. She was born June 2, 1911, in Newark, OH, to the late William and Dolly Holmes.

Mrs. Henry was the oldest member of the Wright Memorial U.M. Church, she was a true Christian woman who read her Bible everyday and was ready to meet The Lord. She belonged to the 25 Year Club at Owens Corning and the Retirees. She was a skilled and avid quilter. She loved her family, family get-togethers, cooking, reading, and took up golf at the age of 62. Mrs. Henry also enjoyed traveling anywhere and everywhere, her last memorable trip was to the Holmes family reunion this year.

Mrs. Henry is survived by her two sons, Tom (Sally) Henry of Newark, OH, Richard (Linda) Henry of Newark, OH; daughter-in-law and husband, Sue (Lew) Mounts; nine grandchildren, Nancee (Jay) Smith of Kennesaw, GA, George (Joann) Henry of Franklin, IN, Doug (Kathy Kennedy) Henry of Granville, OH, Koni (Bill) Gockenbach of Thornville, OH, Brad (Jil Holmes) Henry of Columbus, OH, Glenn (Marcie) Henry of Solon, OH, Jill (Craig) English of Newark, OH, Lucinda Henry of Portland, OR, and Julie (Don) Hollensbe of Glen Ellyn, IL; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, William; one daughter, Patricia Ann; three brothers, Walter, Joseph, and John Holmes; and three sisters, Ruth Atherton, Mary Frances Holmes, and Lois Lucinda Holmes.
