Virgil D. Davis, 71, New Salisbury, died yesterday at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. A native of Wall Lake, Iowa, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Metta E. Wiseman Davis. He was a retired employee of E. I. DuPont Chemical Co. in Louisville, an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and a member of American Legion Post 123.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marilyn J. Conrad; two sons, Bruce A. Davis and Paul C. Davis, both of Corydon; a daughter, Lu Ann Swartz of Corydon; a brother, Loran C. Davis; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey Thursday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The funeral will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Woods Chapel Cemetery in Ramsey.
