Winnie Edith Davis was born Octo. 5, 1896 in Floyd County, Indiana, and died Feb. 23, 1912, at the age of 15 years, 4 months and 20 days.

She came with her parents to Nebraska when she was two years of age. When about five years old she had a spell of sickness from which she never fully recovered but gradually grew worse as she advanced in years, suffering patiently until the end.

She was baptized by Rev. Maize of the Methodist church of Red Cloud when she was seven years old.

At an early age she began to read the bible and her interest grew as she grew in years, and for the last eighteen months never failed to read and study one chapter or more each day.

A short time before her death she saw that her loved ones were greatly troubled and told them she knew what was troubling them and for them not to grieve, but said "she sometimes wondered what it would be like, and for them to all be good, and to read the bible each day."

Her life was an example of purity and truth, a true Christian life.

Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. E. N. Tompkins.

She was buried in February 1912 in Red Cloud Cemetery, Red Cloud, Webster Co., NE, Findagrave #192672032.
