Daniel Price was born about 1748. He married Elizabeth.¹ He died in 1792 in Washington Twp., Franklin Co., PA,

Daniel appears to have been the eldest child of Elder John Price. In the census of 1790 he had one son under the age of sixteen and one daughter. He mentions children in his will but I (George F. P. Wanger) have been unable to get any information about them.

Deed. Daniel Price of Washington Township, to Casper Welshof of the same place, dated Oct. 21, 1786. Consideration 75 pounds, for 15 A. & 20 per. Vidi Deed Book 2 page 36, in which Daniel Price agrees to patent said tract so sold with his own tract of land at his own expense and when patented he convenants to make Welsh a good and sufficient warranty.

Will of Daniel Price of Washington Township, dated Jan. 19, 1792, probated May 15, 1792:

"In the name of God, Amen. I, Daniel Price of Washington Township, Franklin County, in the state of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, being weak in body but of perfect soundness of mind and memory do constitute and appoint this my last will and testament, resigning my soul into the hands of God who gave it, my body to the dust from whence it was taken, to be decently buried at the descretion of my executors and dispose of my worldly substance in the following manner, viz: in the first place that all my lawful debts be discharged and the remainder of all my moveable property to be for use and disposal of my well beloved wife, Elizabeth, she selling off all the live stock excepting two cows and one horse as she thinks fit and as for my beloved children I appoint that they shall share equally alike of what real estate my father, John Price, shall settle and determine to them as my heirs, also I nominate and appont Jacob Price and James Crooks as my executors to execute and enforce this my last will and testament, as witness my hand and seal this 19th day of January in the year of our Lord, 1792.

The following deed appears of record at Chambersburg, Pa., in Deed Book 7, page 516:

"DEED. John Price of Washington Township, Franklin Co., Pa., to the Heirs of the Body of Daniel Price, dated April 14, 1792, in consideration of the sum of one hundered pounds specie, paid by Elizabeth, widow of Daniel Price, deceased, for 215 acres of land, in said township.

"Being part of a tract surveyed by virtue of two warrants granted to Gustavus Brown, dated Aug. 22, 1751, and sold by said Gustavus Brown, April 8, 1752, to George Brown, vidi Deed Book 'B,' Vol. 1, page 61 and sold by George Brown to John Crooks and James Coyle by deed dated Dec. 14, 1759, vidi Deed Book 'A,' page 533, which part of said tract with two additional warrants taken by said Coyle, one dated Jan. 18, 1766, the other dated Dec. 15, 1768, was sold by said James Coyle to William and James Patterson by deed dated May 11, 1775, vidi Deed Book 'A," page 534, and also sold by said William and John Patterson to the said John Price, by deed dated May 6, 1780, the same being recorded in Deed Book 'A," page 535."²
