Daniel Murdo MacDonald was born on 28 September 1949 in Hamilton Co. (probably), TN; After the death of his step-father in 2004 and publication of that obituary, Daniel began a search for his biological father, including a DNA test, which led him into contact with Tracy DeVault. Here are some of Tracy's notes from his correspondence with Daniel:


" Dan MacDonald pointed out that Marjorie's two sons were both juniors and yet neither was the biological son of the father they were named after. In 2019 we (Daniel Murdo MacDonald, Jr. and I) learned via an autosomal DNA test by Ancestry.com that Dan's biological father was Robert Lee Bender, Sr.

For some of you who don’t know about Skipper Hayes, he was a little 8 year old boy riding his bike to get something for his mother at the store, back on Sept. 6, 1958. My mother hit him with her 54 Chevy, killing him instantly. She never saw him until it was too late, way too late. We will never know whether Skipper ran the stop sign, whether my mother had a totally clear view of the street he was coming down. She told me two days later that she hadn’t seen him until she hit him, which is supported by the news story. She also said he’d come down a driveway behind a hedge, which is definitely not supported by the news story. I have the accident story, but it doesn’t say anything about the condition of the intersection. She was going to the house of the family whose only son, Dub Rice, would eventually become my stepfather. In the past two weeks—for the first time ever—I’ve been in contact with a cousin of Skipper, a nice lady down in Englewood, TN." He married Trudy J. Thomas on 28 August 1972 in Cuyahoga Co., OH. He and Trudy J. Thomas were divorced in 1978. He married Martha Belchner in 1980. He and Martha Belchner were divorced in 1983. He married Michelle Bomar in June 1986 in Knoxville, Knox Co., TN; Michelle was previously married to a Currie. He died on 20 December 2025 in Knoxville, Knox Co., TN.

Robbie Anne Windle was born about 1915 in Greer Co. (probably), OK.¹ She married Vestal Allen Rusk.
