Kenneth C. Hodges was born Aug. 6, 1914 in Marion County, KS,to Walter J.and Maggie S. (Philips) Hodges,and died Friday,Jan 2, 2004 at Madison Manor, Madison, KS.
He was a car inspector for the Santa Fe Railroad for 26 years.
He married Ethel Windle on June 27, 1940 and three children were born to this union,
Funeral services will be 10:30am Monday Jan.5, 2004 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia with Pastor Lucille Barb, Olpe Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Chicago Mound Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel of Emporia; one son Richard of Claremore ,OK;two daughters, Janet Cummings of Emporia, and Doris Hund of Leavenworth; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Daniel Baker.

Walter Joseph Hodges, son of James Lafoon and Sarah Amanda (Falen) Hodges was born July 19, 1882 in Dickinson County, Kansas and died Friday in Newman Memorial County Hospital.
He married Margaret Serillda Philips on Mar.14, 1907 in Marion and one son was born to them.
He had been a resident of Emporia since 1918 and was a member of the Friends Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Apr. 20, 1947 and three brothers, one sister and one great-grandson, Danny.
The services were held in the Blair Colonial Mortuary with burial in Chicago Mound Cemetery.
The personnel of the Emporia District of Social and Rehabilition Services attended the services.
He is survived by his son Kenneth of Emporia; one sister, Mary Powers of Indiana; one grandson Richard Hodges of Emporia; two granddaughters, Mrs Janet Cummings of Emporia, Doris Hodges of Kansas City and one great-grandson, Brian Hodges.

Mrs. Maggie S. Hodges died Monday at 9:45am in Newman Memorial Hospital.
Services were held 3pm Friday at the Roberts-Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Dunagan, pastor of First Friends Church, officiating.
Pallbearers were Gail, Lee, and Floyd Whitford, Neil Venso, and William M. Phillips.
Burial will be in the Chicago Mound Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Marion County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Winfield Philips.
She married Walter Hodges March 14, 1907. They came to Emporia in 1918.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; one son, Kenneth of Emporia; three brothers, Lemuel of Wichita, Roy of Ventura, CA and Owen Philips of Benton, AR; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Whitford of Matfield Green, Mrs. Bertha Venso of Newton , KS and Mrs. Violet Payne of Orem, UT.
