Obituary for Elizabeth Temple, August 17, 1915
Elizabeth Temple Alloway was born March 10, 1836, near Kimbolton, Ohio, and departed this life August 17, 1915, aged 79 years, six months, and seven days. She was a daughter of Edward and Margaret Temple, who were among the first settlers of this country. Elizabeth Alloway was born in the same community where she spent her entire life. She was united in marriage three times and the following children survive:
Malinda Jones of Florida; Mrs. Lyda (Eliza Jane) Temple of Guernsey; Alexander Lanning of Clio; Edward of Peoli; W. G. of Kimbolton; Mrs. Ida Miller; Mrs. Dova Allendar; and Mrs. Hattie Dugan of Cambridge; and Porter Alloway of Pennsylvania.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was ever ready to help the poor and needy and administer to the sick, but God hath said, "Thy work is done, good and faithful servant, come up higher."
She became a follower of Christ at the age of 15 years. She told her loved ones around the bed that everything was well with her and she was going where there was no pain or suffering and asked them to meet her in Heaven.
She leaves to mourn her death an aged husband and children who were constantly at her bedside,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one brother, John Temple, of Columbus and a host of friends.
The funeral was held at her late home in Kimbolton, conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Mr. Manning of Kimbolton, assisted by Rev. Mr. Luccock of Chicago, a life-long friend of the deceased. The remains were taken to Jones Cemetery where her four sons carried her to her last resting place. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the aged husband and children.
She was buried in August 1915 in Jones Cemetery, Kimbolton, Guernsey Co., OH, Findagrave #28500486.
