Mrs Charles Wendell died Wednesday night at 11:50 o'clock at her home in Portsmouth. Mrs. Wendell was a sister of M. L. Alloway, 711 1/2 Wheeling avenue. She was a resident of Cambridge earlier in life, and moved to Portsmouth about 25 years ago. The body will arrive at the home of Mr. Alloway, Friday morning, and services will be conducted from there at 2.30 p.m., by Rev. C. Arch , rector of the Episcopaliar church Burial will be In Northwood cemetery. The Zanesville Signal, June 22, 1934, Page 7

Mrs. Viola Wendell, 612 Fourth street, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. Her death resulted from complications and followed a six month illness. Mrs. Wendell is survived by her husband, Charles Wendell, four children: Bertrand, who is in Arkansas, 'Richard. Marjorie and Robert at home, a sister, Mrs. I. Fogel of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and two brothers, J.W. Alloway and M. J. Alloway and her father, Joseph Alloway all of Newcomerstown. ALPHEUS N. WINDLE

COLUMBIANA. Feb. 4 -- Alpheus N. Windle, 77, of the Columbiana-Middleton rd. two miles south of Columbiana, died suddenly of a heart attack at noon Wednesday at his home.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Windle, he was born in Fairfield Township on Nov. 12, 1859. He was prominent in the rural activities of the district where he spent his entire life. He was married to Venora Hum in August 1883, iin Columbiana. Mrs. Windle died in August of 1929. Three brothers and one sister also preceded him in death. He was a member of Grace Reformed church of Columbiana.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ina Esterly, at home, and two granddaughters.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the home, in charge of Rev. Walter Gobrecht. Burial will be in the Columbiana cemetery. The body will be taken to the home today from the Fry funeral home.

He was buried in February 1937 in Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Columbiana Co., OH, Findagrave #86401646.
