He was born March 1, 1914, in New Holland, the son of Floyd M. and Bessie Ginther Wendell. He married Margaret L. in 1937 in Middletown; she died in 2003.

Mr. Wendell was a retired farmer. He was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church, the farm bureau and United Methodist Men.

There are no survivors.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sherman United Methodist Church, the Rev. Mike Pennell officiating. Burial: Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

He was buried in May 2005 in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown, Menard Co., IL.
