Rev. Jacob A. Stover was born on 7 April 1837 in Franklin Co., PA.¹ He married Mary C. Lesher, daughter of Capt. Samuel Lesher and Sarah Young, on 7 October 1862.¹ Rev. Jacob A. Stover died on 27 April 1875 Mr. Stover served as a 2d Lieut. in the 59th Regt. Pa. Infantry during the Civil War. Serving his term of enlistment he returned home and afterward volunteered for another term, serving as Quartermaster until the close of the war. He afterward entered the ministry of the Brethren Church, about 1865, serving until his death which was the result of lockjaw caused by a cut from a small pruning knife.¹
