Biography

Anna Maria Walt was born on 17 August 1791 in Pennsylvania. She married Joseph Stoner, son of Christian Stoner and Barbara Brenneman. Anna Maria Walt died on 21 February 1852 in Seneca Co., OH.



Note:

her name "Anna M. (Walt)" is from the brief biography of her son Henry Stoner, contained on page 934 of the book History of Seneca County, Ohio containing a History of the County, Its Townships, Towns, Villages, Schools, Churches, Industries, Etc.; Portraits of Early Settlers and Prominent Men; Biographies; History of the Northwest Territory; History of Ohio; Statistical and Miscellaneous Matter, etc. etc. - Illustrated - Chicago: Warner, Beers & Co., 1886.

In the History of Tama County, Iowa her name is shown as "Mary" -- possibly her middle name was actually "Maria".

The wife of Joseph Stoner, found in the 1850 census, Pleasant Twp., Seneca County, is "Elizabeth" -- apparently a later remarriage. DLB 2011.

Henry Stoner was born on 3 February 1817 in Franklin Co., PA. He married Susan R. Young in 1854 in Seneca Co., OH. He died on 22 March 1895 in Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH.



Note:

HENRY STONER, farmer, P. O. Fort Seneca, is a native of Franklin County, Penn., born Feb. 3, 1817; son of Joseph and Anna M. (Walt) Stoner, the parents of three sons and four daughters, and who came with their family to this county in 1847, settling in Pleasant Township. Our subject was united in marriage, in 1854, with Susan R. Young, by whom he had three sons and three daughters: Catharine, Celestia, Anna, Lee, Ira and Ora; all living but Ona and Lee. The mother departed this life in June, 1883. She was a life-long member of the Reformed Church. Mr. Stoner has been successful in life, and by industry and economy is now owner of 200 acres of land, the greater part of which he has improved. He is a faithful advocate of the principles of the Republican party; ha been a life long member of the Reformed Church.
