Note: Adelia Rosecrans Swartz was a second cousin (same generation) of the Civil War Union general William S. Rosecrans. She invented a change mattress-level crib, Patent No. 89953, May 11, 1869, and founded the Children's Industrial Home, Philadelphia, PA.2
