IN MEMORY OF THE LATE MRS. WINTERSTEIN

Mrs. Sarah Ellen Gambrel was born in Springfield, Illinois, April 24th, 1846, and was laid to rest at her daughter's home on Spring Creek, December 26, 1919, being 73 years, 8 months and 5 days old.

She moved to the state of Kansas in 1871, and was there married to Phillip Winterstein. She leaves to mourn her death four children - N.E. Winterstein of Pleasant Valley; S.T. Winterstein, of Horseshoe Bend; C.F. Winterstein of Silverton, Ore.; and her daughter, Mrs. Vinnie Adams, of Spring Creek, and a number of grandchildren and friends.

They moved to Klickitat County April 1, 1892. They lived at Goldendale for a while, and then moved to Blockhouse, where her husband died twelve years ago. After his death she and her granddaughter, Mabel, lived alone for a long time, and when Mabel was married, she lived with her and Mrs. Vinnie Adams.

She was laid to rest in Spring Creek cemetery on Sunday, by friends and relatives, G.H. Darland speaking the last words after the departed.

I shall see Him in His Beauty,

He Himself, his bride will meet;

I shall dwell with Him forever,

Thoughts of Him are strength and guidance,

In companionship complete.

Ah, who comes, who walks in this way?

"Tis my Master," see - the bride-groom;

So she hid herself that day.

She was buried on 28 December 1919 in Spring Creek Cemetery, Goldendale, Klickitat Co., WA.
