Obituary (Findagrave.com):
There were misty eyes Wednesday among scores of the Cincinnati areas's less fortunate families. They mourned the untimely death of their Lady Bountiful, Mrs. Lucinda Rodgers Closson. The wife of A. Burton Closson, president of the A. B. Closson Jr., Co., 421-423 Race Street, interior furnishers and decorators, she died Tuesday night at the age of 46 at Holmes Hospital. She suffered from the same illness that last year took a friend of the family, Senator Robert A. Taft. She had been seriously ill since Sept. 1. Her home was at 8505 Shawnee Run Road, Indian Hill. MRS. CLOSSON'S activities in her private charities and in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Terrace Park, and earlier in Calvary Episcopal Church, Clifton, formed a continuing interest all her married life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sinclair Rodgers, Springfield, O. She attended Rosemary Hall, Greenwich, Conn. MRS. CLOSSON was a board member and past president of the Women's Exchange and a board member of the Widows and Old Men's Home, Walnut Hills. Active in society circles, Mrs. Closson also was a member of the Colonial Dames, Junior League and Indian Hill Garden Club. Besides her husband, who is active in a number of local organizations, she leaves a son, A. Burton Closson III, and one sister, Mrs. Richard Bahman, Springfield. A graduate of Yale, the son returned from the Harvard School of Business Administration in November when his mother's illness became critical.
FUNERAL SERVICES have tentatively been set for Friday afternoon in St. Thomas Church, with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family requests that, instead of flowers, friends send contributions to the Laboratory of Hematology, University of Cincinnati, or St. Thomas Church.
She was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH, Findagrave #78909190.
