Mrs. Alice McKinley

Mrs. Alice P. McKinley, 36, 1623 Magnolia Dr. died early Thursday morning at St. John's Hospital after an eight-month illness,

Active in civic affairs, Mrs. McKinley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and Sunday School teacher there, a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority, the Anderson Community Action Council, and the League of Women Voters.

She was also instrumental in founding the Anna Douglas Robertson Day Care School. She had served as Cub Scout Den Mother and past Director of the Girl Scout Day Camp. She had a BS degree in Home Economics from Purdue University.

Mrs. McKinley was born in Hays, Kans. May 3, 1933, a daughter of Hamilton and Elizabeth Collier Putnam and came here from Jeffersonville 14 years ago.

She was married in 1956 to Ellis R. McKinley who survives. Also surviving are three sons at home, Douglas, David and Stephen McKinley; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Putnam of Jeffersonville; and a sister, Mrs. Quinton Markley of Imperial, Neb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. George Taggert. Interment will be in the East Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Interment: East Maplewood Cemetery.

77; Korean War Veteran

A funeral Mass for Wilford B. Faske, 77, of Starlight, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with burial in the Church cemetery. He died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Louisville.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He founded Faske Wood Molding in Starlight in 1963 and ran the company until retirement. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Church in Starlight and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was born on May 30, 1931 in London Bridge, Va., to the late Arthur W. and Ada Wood Faske.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, JoAnn McKinley Faske; children, Connie Senn and her husband, Frank, Floyds Knobs, Carol Stephens and her husband, Wayne, Martinsburg, Joe Faske and his wife Karen, Clemmons N. C. and Matthew Faske, Louisville; brothers, James and Raymond "Chub" Faske; sisters, Mary Kreilein and Ann Banet; and grandchildren, Bernadette, Lea, Zach, and Sarah Faske.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Carl Faske.

Visitation will be at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, from 3 to 8 p.m. today.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Vistacare Hospice Foundation, 391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, 47130.
