JEFFERSONVILLE --Charles Leroy Ashton, 71, of 1130 Spring, a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Clark County memorial hospital. He was a member of Morton Memorial Methodist church.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Ashton; a son, Charles W. Ashton, Clarksville; a daughter, Mrs. Marcella Kishoski, Tucson, Ariz.; two step-sons, Ralph Kelton, Jeffersonville, and Thomas Kelton, Clarksville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Joyce Habermel, New Albany; a foster sister, Miss Alberta Long, Jeffersonville; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. a.m. Thursday at the Coots Funeral home. Burial will be in the Walnut Ridge cemetery.

JEFFERSONVILLE -- Joseph H. Roerk, 31, died Thursday afternoon at Fisher, where he moved three weeks ago. An employee of the navy Ordnance department, he was a native of Speed and had lived in Jeffersonville, where he was a member of Clark Masonic Lodge and Wall Street Methodist church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sue Roerk; a daughter, Sharon Roerk and a son, Tommy Roerk, both at home; a brother, Paul Roerk of Fort Knox, Ky., and his mother, Mrs. Louise Roerk of Jeffersonville.
The body will be at the Scott Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Friday. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with burial in the Walnut Ridge cemetery.

Glen Blakenbaker
Services for Glen R. “Bob” Blakenbaker, 71, of Benton were Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Collier Funeral Chapel. Mr. Clay Blakenbaker officiated.
Mr. Blakenbaker died at 10:15 p.m. on March 8, 2004 at his residence.
He was an operator at Briggs and Stratton. He was also a Korean Era US Navy Veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Twila Blakenbaker of Benton; four sons, Clay Blakenbaker of Gilbertsville, Thomas Blakenbaker of Valparaiso, Ind., Ronald Blakenbaker of Hobart, Ind. and Michael Blakenbaker of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Glenda Majeski of Gary, Ind., Robin Blakenbaker of Asheville, N.C., and Tracy Blakenbaker of Tulsa, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
