Wendall Samuel Knudson
Born April 9, 1914 in Morris, IL, died April 13, 2000 in Joliet.
Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Reva (Hawn) Knudson, daughter Wynn (Gerald) Berro, sons Jim (Janet) and John (Sharon) Knudson; grandchildren Dan, Brook and Brad Berro, John-Aaron and Ashley Knudson; brother-in-law Richard Johnson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death-by his parents George and Cornelia (Peterson) Knudson, brother Russel and sister Eleanor Johnson.
Wendall began farming in Kendall County, was owner of the Knudson Real Estate Agency but was best known for 45 years as Joliet's Premier Auctioneer. His memberships in organizations and churches include Joliet Grade School and High School Band Parents, Joliet Exchange Club, Matteson Lodge No. 175, A.F.&A.M: and Chapter Dad of Swordsman Chapter Order of DeMolay, Medinah Temple-Chicago, Grace United Methodist Church and former member of Ottawa Street United Methodist Church.
Wendall was a lover of people. He always reached out-his hand and was the first to greet every person, he met with a hand shake and a smile. He enjoyed talking to people.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 16, 2000 at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. with Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 17, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara Donica officiating. Interment Aux Sable Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Services would, be appreciated.
