Obituary:
Jacob Thomas Timbrook, 11, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Jan. 19, 2010, with his family surrounding him. Jacob was born Oct. 8, 1998, to Tom and Angie Timbrook, in Rock Island. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, 6601 38th Ave, Moline. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with graveside services at Dayton Corner Cemetery. Memorials may made to the family or the Ronald McDonald House, Iowa City, in memory of Jacob Timbrook. For such a small boy, Jacob had unbelievable strength, overcoming obstacles that he not only wasn't expected to overcome, but we were told he would not overcome. There was nothing on this earth that Jake could not have handled. For the first time since he was a baby, Jake (or Bubba, as he was affectionately known by his family), is not feeling any pain. He suffered daily for nearly 11 years and now can rest peacefully. Jacob touched the lives of many people over the years and brought many people closer together. He did things his own way on his own schedule, and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He is survived by his parents, Tom and his wife, Andrea, Geneseo, and Angie, Geneseo; brother, Steven, and sister, Skylar, Geneseo; grandparents, Henry and Shirley Timbrook, Colona, Julie and Jim McNew, Moline, and Bob and Joyce Schoemaker, Moline; aunts and uncles, Ted and Laura Timbrook, Chris and Lisa Setser, Eric Setser, Jenny Setser, and Jeremy and J. Schoemaker. He also is survived by many cousins.Jacob was preceded in his death by his uncle, Tim Timbrook; and grandfather, Jack Setser. Online condolences can be left by visiting his obituary at www.esterdahl.com.
