Dorothy Ann Marenchin Newell was born July 18, 1924 in Farrell, Pennsylvania to John and Mary Popyack Marenchin and died March 31, 2013 in Clearwater, Kansas. She was a resident of Stafford, Kansas since 1945.
Dorothy graduated from Farrell High School in 1942 and then worked for Bell Telephone Company. On December 22, 1945 she and Donald Newell were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Farrell, Pennsylvania. He died September 7, 1982. Don and Dorothy were the parents of David, the twins Donald Gene and Dorothy Ann, and Duane.
Dorothy is survived by sons David and his wife Gretchen and Duane and his wife Alyce, daughter Dorothy Ann and her husband Bill Caley, daughter-in-law Jenny Newell, brothers John, Donald, and Ernie Marenchin, sisters Thelma Voshell and Mary Ann Covert, grandchildren Carrie Caley Martinez, Amy Caley Timperley, Darren Newell, Courtney Newell Fahey, Bradley Newell, William Newell, Tim Newell, and Harry Newell, great-grandchildren Zachary and Zoey Martinez, Caley and Chase Timperley, Annie and Ellie Newell, Maura and Gavin Fahey, Ella and Charlie Newell, Cohen and Caleb Newell, and Kyler, Payton, and Greyson Newell, step-grandchildren Kayli and Kirstin Kisner, and step-great-grandchildren Destiny and Eric Shelton.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald, her parents, her son Donald Gene, her brother George Rabatin, her sister Bettie Henderson, her granddaughter Jeanette Newell, and her daughter-in-law Deb Newell.
Dorothy provided a comfortable home for her husband and children. She welcomed friends, neighbors, the in-laws as they joined the family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with open arms. Her kitchen was always filled with inviting aromas--noodles, cookies, cinnamon rolls--no one left her house hungry. Her handmade mints for wedding receptions were certainly a treat for all. Dorothy's other special talent was crocheting, and in particular, the warm and comforting blankets for all of the grand babies and great-grandbabies. For each of the grandchildren she crafted porcelain dolls that matched their hair and eye colors.
Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stafford and Kansas Flying Farmers. She was a past Flying Farmer queen.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Stafford with Rev. Amy Slater presiding. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church general fund in care of Minnis Chapel.

Obituary (findagrave.com)
Richard Newell
Richard Frank NEWELL, youngest son of Harry and Viola NEWELL, was born July 8, 1929, at the family home and died at the Feldhut Memorial Hospital at Stafford, Kans., Jan. 5, 1937, age 7 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
Richard had met with a painful accident November 5, and suffered much pain, but seemed to be recovering nicely, when it became necessary to operate again on the broken leg. he was unable to bear the shock and strain, and at about 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, he slipped quietly away.
Little Richard had a cheery greeting and smile for all. He lived all his life in the Eureka neighborhood, attended the Eureka church, was a member of the Rose Bud class in Sunday school, and went to the Eureka school. So he will be greatly missed by all his little companions in the neighborhood.
The day he died, while his mother was caring for him, they were speaking of death, and his mother asked him if he would be afraid to die. He looked up into her face and said, "No, mother, I love God."
But his death came as a great shock to the family and friends.
He leaves to mourn his death his father and mother; two brothers, Donald and Rexford; his Grandmother NEWELL and a host of near relatives and friends.
Friends gathered at the family, home, where a short service was held, following which, funeral services were held at the Eureka church Thursday afternoon, Jan. 7, with the pastor, the Rev. Handley, in charge. He was assisted by the Rev. Susie Shrauner, who brought the message and the Rev. Dell Parnham, after which the body was laid to rest in the Stafford cemetery.
