Paul J. Johnson, age 78, of 24327 Denton Valley Rd., Abingdon, VA. went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Grace Healthcare of Abingdon, VA. Mr. Johnson was born December 2, 1925, a son of the late James and Lou Ella Marx Johnson and was a lifelong resident of the Denton Valley area, was a retired farmer and contractor. Mr. Johnson attended Denton Valley Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita "Tead" Kitzmiller Johnson and two sisters, Addie Greer and Bonnie Greer, Two brothers, Albert and J.D. Johnson. Survivors include: Six Sons: David Johnson and wife, Judy; Dewey Johnson, Dennis Johnson and wife, Rita; Arthur Johnson, Paul Johnson Jr. and wife, Sharon and John Johnson; Four Daughters: Jo Ann Pippin, Betty Stewart and husband, Oscar, Dorothy Hillard and husband, Dwight and Penny Tillison and husband, James, Two Sisters: Virgie Needham and Lona Whittaker, nineteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 PM Thursday, June 17, 2004 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Stevens and Rev. Dennis Pippin officiating. Burial will be Friday at 11 AM in Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Weaver Funeral Home.
