"Marjorie Rose Walls (nee Clark), 76, a resident of Geneva, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She was born on June 16, 1934, to R. Clifford and Lura Clark in Fort Wayne, Ind. Marj graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1952, and attended Wheaton College where she met Richard Walls. They were married on Aug. 27, 1954. They moved to Geneva in 1955. and joined the First Baptist Church, where she was an active member and ran the AWANA Club. Marj was a longtime staff member at the Morton Arboretum, where she worked in the Children's Residence Program. She had a passion for bird-watching and loved spending summers at the family cottage at Bethany Beach, Mich., where she established the nature trail. She is survived by her husband, Richard; three children, David (Mary Ann) Walls of Naperville, Timothy (Wilma) Walls of St. Charles and Julie (Dave) Quandt of Grayslake; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Mako), Marc, Samantha, and Rachel Walls, Brennan and Kathleen Walls, and Lura and Andy Quandt; two great-grandchildren, Taiga and Ricky, one sister, Molly Van Norman of Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Geneva, East Campus, 2300 South St., Geneva, IL 60134. Close friends are welcome to join the family for a graveside service on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wheaton Cemetery. In her memory memorial gifts may be directed to First Baptist Church of Geneva, Morton Arboretum or CNS Hospice, in lieu of flowers.

ROBERT L. "BOB" KRIDER, 72, passed away at home on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, and joined his Heavenly Father. Born in Fort Wayne, he worked as a painter with Navistar for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 47 and Faith Baptist Church, and past president of the Maplewood Park Association. He enjoyed his retirement as a vendor at Shipshewana for many years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lillian (Osborn) Krider of Fort Wayne; daughter, Teresa (David) Hess of Avilla; grandsons, Justin (Lindsay) Purdy and Jason (Alicia) Purdy, both of Fort Wayne, and John Purdy of Carbondale, Ill. Mrs. Ethel Zainhofsky, 50, passed away at her home in Broderick, Calif. Nov. 5. She was born in 1918 at Havre, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sonner. She lived north of Inverness, attended rural schools and Joplin schools.

She had lived in California during the winter months since 1938 where she attended Sacramento Junior College, the Federal Art School, Academy of Arts, Sacramento Valley and with private instructors. She was a member of the MIA, the Northern California Art Association and Hi-Line Art Club.

She presented art shows at the DeMolay Memorial in Great Falls, Mont., and the Gary Cooper Gallery of Montana Historical Society in Helena, Mont., and several local displays.

She is survived by her husband, Peter, and daughter Helen and son Mark at the family home in Sacramento. Services and burial were in Sacramento Friday, Nov. 8.

RAYMOND C. BLYSTONE

A Vancouver resident since 1950, Raymond C. Blystone died in a Portland hospital Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, of pneumonia. He was 85.

Mr. Blystone worked as a machine operator in the extrusion plant at Alcoa for 26 years.

He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club.

He was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Cathay, N.D.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary V., at home; three daughters, Karen LaClergue and Laurie Creager, both of Vancouver, and Ruthann Hagensen of Vale, Ore.; six sons, Jim, Clark and Jess, all of Vancouver, Gene of Camas, Kevin of Phoenix and Joe of Ridgefield; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He loved music and played several instruments, including the violin, guitar, banjo, mandolin and organ.

Mr. Blystone served in the Royal Canadian Army during World War II.

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at St. James Acres. The casket will be open from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. today at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home.

Mary V. was born on 8 July 1920. She married Raymond Clayton Blystone, son of Joseph William Blystone and Vernie Tabitha Sonner, about 1944. Mary V. died on 6 October 2003. She was buried in October 2003 in Mother Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Vancouver, Clark Co., WA, Find A Grave Memorial# 162423248.
