Mrs. Amy Sonner, age 85, the widow of John Sonner, passed away

Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter in Noble.

Mrs. Sonner is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Shafer of

Noble, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kaley Sonner, being a number of years operator of Noble Mill.

Funeral services were held on Friday at the Noble Funeral Home,

the Rev. H. E. Dickey in charge. Interment was in the Noble cemetery.

She was buried in 1951 in Noble Prairie Cemetery, Noble, Richland Co., IL, Find A Grave Memorial# 32587306.

Minnie Sonner Shafer was born Nov. 11, 1887 in Decker Township, Richland County.

The daughter of John and Amy Runyon Sonner.

On June 20, 1907 she was united in marriage with Dr. J. C. Shafer M.D.

To this union three sons were born, Harold, Robert and Toby.

She was a member of the Noble United Methodist Church, The Contentment Chapter of the Noble Eastern Star sixty years, and the Royal Neighbors of America Camp No. 429.

For the past few years she had made her home at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son; Toby, one brother, Kaley Sonner; two sisters, Mrs. Mauce Steward and Mrs. Emily Stokes and two infant grandsons.

She is survived by two sons, Harold of Noble and Robert of Olney; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
