C. Howard Conley, 71, of 400 S. Orchard St. died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1992, at his residence.
Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Green Valley to Charles E. and Myrtle Beaver Conley, he married Irma Eichelberger on Jan. 24, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dennis of Pekin; and three sisters, Frances Ingold of Peoria, and Erma J. Beard and Mary L. Tisdale, both of Pekin. One stepgrandson and one brother preceded him in death.
He was a truck driver for R.A. Cullinan & Son in Tremont for 25 years. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Mary L. Tisdale, 57, of 1221 S. Third St. died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1996, at Pekin Hospital.
Born May 26, 1939, in Delavan to Charles E. and Myrtle G. Bever Conley, she married George P. Tisdale on Feb. 8, 1967, in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Deborah Ann Tisdale and Mrs. Jim (Jody L.) Jorgensen, both of Pekin, and Mrs. Vince (Kelly J.) Peters of Mapleton; four sons, Jimmie S. of Woodward, Okla., Terry R. Sr. of San Jose, Gregory S. of Talbott Addition, Manito, and Howard M. of North Pekin; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Fran I. Ingold of Peoria and Erma Jane Beard of Pekin.

Sgt. U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II-Sgt. Conley was killed in action on 9-12-1944 while serving as a waist gunner on a B-24 Aircraft with the 751st Bomber Squadron of the 458th Bomber Group, Heavy flying out of Horsham St. Faith, England with Colonel James Isbell as Commander.
He is the son of Mr. Charles & Mrs. Myrtle Conley of 210 Broadway in Pekin, Illinois, and is 1943 graduate of Pekin H.S., and enlisted a short time later, and did his training at the Aerial Gunner's School at Las Vegas, Nevada, and was in England by June of 1944.
Besides his parents, he leaves one brother, Sgt. Howard Conley of the Army, and three sisters, Miss Frances, Miss Erma Jane, and Miss Mary Louise, all at home. And foremost, Sgt. Conley's fiancee, Miss Bertha Lucille Watson.
Awards; Purple Heart Medal, Air Medal, Crew Wings, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with One Battle Star, Army Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal.
