Evelyn R. Snyder, 87, of Hawthorne Drive died at 9:54 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis while attending an Indiana Pacers game.
A member of First United Methodist Church, she also was a member of Mary Martha Circle of the Church. She was a long-time doll collector and a member of 500 Dollers Club in Indianapolis, Columbus Antique Club and Rural Social Club. She was a long-time volunteer at Taylorsville United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player and was an avid Columbus Bulldogs fan. She had followed the team for 74 straight seasons.
Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street, with the Revs. Richard L. Christopher and Allan K. Wilson officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brooke Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or American Heart Association.
Mrs. Snyder was born in Taylorsville Feb. 21, 1907, the daughter of Franklin B. and Jessie Sims Richards. She married Ralph H. Snyder April 15, 1928, in Taylorsville. He died Sept. 25, 1981.
Survivors include a son, Charles F. Snyder of Columbus; a daughter, Nancy Losure of Columbus; grandchildren, Jane Ann Gordon, David L. Losure and Franklin R. Snyder, all of Columbus, Michael J. Wilson of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Jeffrey C. Wilson of Lake Forest, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Darcia Durfey.
She was buried in November 1994 in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN, Findagrave #71891729.

Charles Franklin Snyder, 79, of Northern Goshawk Drive, died at 7 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
Mr. Snyder was born January 6, 1931, at the home of his grandparents in Taylorsville, the son of the late Ralph H. and Evelyn Ruth Richards Snyder. He spent his childhood years in Taylorsville.
He married Janette Jolliff on March 28, 1970, in Gallatin, Tenn. She survives.
Mr. Snyder had owned and operated Snyder Grain Elevators in Elizabethtown and New Albany. A United States Army veteran, he served during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.
He was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church and had attended Franklin College in Franklin. He contributed information to Columbus Historical Society and enjoyed Columbus history and genealogy. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf and Columbus North High School, Indiana University and Indiana Pacers basketball. He also enjoyed playing his favorite 1940s music on the piano and having political discussions. He was fascinated with classic cars.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel, 1022 Pearl St., with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by members of Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to American Cancer Society.

Surviving with his wife of 40 years are a son, Franklin "Rick" (Tricia) Snyder of Columbus; two stepsons, Michael (Beverly) Wilson of Escalon, Calif., and Jeffrey (Cindy Shierant) Wilson of Peyton, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
With his parents, Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Losure, in 2009, and his grandparents, Franklin B. and Jessie Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snyder.
He was buried in May 2010 in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN, Findagrave #63482438.

Paul Gilmore, 80, Maquoketa, Iowa, formerly of Lost Nation and Monmouth, both in Iowa, died Sunday, July 4, 1993, at Jackson County Public Hopital, Maquoketa.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at United Church of Christ, Maquoketa, where he was a member. Burial is in Lost Nation Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Gilmore was born July 26, 1912, in Olin, Iowa, the son of Forest and Ida Kregar Gilmore. He married Maxine Crist Oct. 24, 1936, in Anamosa, Iowa.
He farmed in the Lost Nation area for more than 30 years, then moved to Monmouth, where he ran a rental business for 20 years. He retired to Maquoketa in 1987.
Survivors include the widow; daughters Judy Keeney, Davenport, and Shirley Olson, Maquoketa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; half-sisters Velma Fall, Oxford Junction, Iowa, and Mary Ann Mayfield, Davenport; and half-brothers Harold Gilmore, in California, and Robert Gilmore, Davenport.
Paul Gilmore lived on 15 April 1940 in Monmouth Twp., Jackson Co., IA.
