Alice L. Clifton, 71, of Bellefontaine, died Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Mary Rutan Hospital.

She was born in London, Ohio, on January 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Richard Albert and Helen Barley King.

On September 24, 1954, she married Richard Clifton and he survives, along with sons, Richard (Ann) Clifton and Terry Clifton, both of Bellefontaine, and Gary (Kathy) Clifton of Lakeview; daughters, Gloria (Charles) Jacobs, Mary (Paul) Cooper, Sheryl Clifton and Debbie (Joe) Dalrymple, all of Bellefontaine; brother, Richard King of London, Ohio; sisters, Mary Hastings, Maxine (Bill) Hayes and Sharon Armstrong, all of London, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A homemaker, she enjoyed working in the yard, taking rides and cooking.

Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where Rev. A.W. Purdin will conduct the funeral at 1 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
