Muriel Godsey, 97, of Bluff City, Tennessee, died on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was a daughter of the late Willie Quillen and Lillie Moore Quillen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Godsey; daughter Jeanette Greenway; sisters, Nell Cassell and Faye Doran; and brother, Robert Quillen.

She was born on July 13, 1913, in Scott County, Virginia and moved to Bluff City in 1937. She was a member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church, where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and nursery worker.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:45 Monday evening, August 2, 2010, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home and any other time at her residence. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. The committal service and interment will be held at 11:00 Tuesday in New Bethel Cemetery.

Arrangements especially for Mrs. Godsey and her family have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Pauline's life were held Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Mario Mayer officiating. Burial was in the Brick Cemetery in rural Newton.

Pauline is survived by two children, John R. French and Jeanne (Mike) Weber both of Newton; three grandchildren, Jackie (Greg) Powell of Columbus, OH, Michael Weber of San Francisco, Ca and Justin (Jenny) Weber of South Beloit; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Weber, Ava Powell and Ryan Weber; sister, Barbara (Edward) Littlejohn of Robinson and sister-in-law, Jo Beverlin of Newton.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Gene, Harry and Glenn Beverlin and 3 sisters Marie Worthey, Beulah Fuson and Hazel Beverlin and 2 grandsons Michael Ross Weber, Jr and Cheney Scott Weber.



She was buried in 2009 in Brick Cemetery, Newton, Jasper Co., IL, Find A Grave Memorial# 65572447.
