William M. Kitzmiller, 81, formerly of 123 Vanderbilt Dr., Johnson City, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in the Asbury Center following a lengthy illness.

A native of Washington County and lifelong resident of this area, he was a son of the late William C. and Tisha Barry Kitzmiller. Mr. Kitzmiller was preceded in death by three sisters, Alta Livingstone, Margie Moury, and Pauline Kitzmiller; and three brothers, Robert Kitzmiller, Glen Kitzmiller, and Homer Kitzmiller.

Mr. Kitzmiller was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He received a bachelor's degree from Milligan college and a master of art degree in education from East Tennessee State University. He retired from teaching from the Washington County School System. He was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, Elizabethton.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Collins Kitzmiller; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mark Norman, Johnson City; one sister, Norma Jean Tucker, Johnson City; one brother, Fred Kitzmiller, Villa Park, Ill.; two grandchildren, Andrew and Eric Norman, both of Johnson City; seven nieces and one nephew.

KITZMILLER -- Funeral services for William M. Kitzmiller, 81, formerly of 123 Vanderbilt Dr., Johnson City, who died Saturday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the Morris Baker South Chapel. Messers Jason Hutchcraft and Fred Lester will officiate. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Monte Vista Burial Park, where those attending will meet for this service. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Oak Grove Christian Church, Carl Taylor, Ralph Willocks, Brice Willocks, Darrell Willocks, Fred Duncan, Jack Eller, and Kevin Lenden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday. JoAnn Carrier Dunlap BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Mrs. JoAnn Carrier Dunlap, age 86, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Verda Staples Carrier. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dunlap was preceded in death by her husband, Jac Dunlap; and her son, Stephen Sisk. Shirley A. Godsey, age 76, of Piney Flats, went home to rejoice with her Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center.

Shirley was born on December 31, 1939 in Bluff City, she was the daughter of the late Carson Stokes and Kate Galloway Stokes. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Haskell Elmo Godsey on June 6 , 2012.

Ms. Godsey was the former owner and operator of Country Heritage Catering. She enjoyed watching game shows and reading her Bible. Shirley was a member of Victory Bible Fellowship and was currently attending Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 414.

Those left to cherish Shirley’s memory include two daughters, Kenna Ellis and husband Kenneth of Bluff City, Holly Perry and husband Jeremy of Piney Flats. One granddaughter Emily Perry of Piney Flats and one grandson Will Ellis of Bluff City. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Yvonne Baird and husband Bill of Bluff City, and several nephews, also by her pets a cat and her dog Margo.

A service to honor the life of Ms. Shirley Godsey will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Tetrick Funeral Home – Bluff City Chapel with Reverend Jamie Ferguson and Dr.Dwayne Baird officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7 pm.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Morning View Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Mettler, Donnie Mottern, Jimmy Greenway, Clarence Bledsoe and Robert Perry. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crystal Bailey of Silver Angels for all the love & care extended to Shirley.
