Justice S. Stephens, 70, of five miles south of Barnesville, died Sunday morning at his home, following an illness of several months. The son of John and Lazetta Eagon Stephens, he was born in Noble county, Sep. 5 1876. He had lived the greatest part of his life in the vicinity of Kennonsburg, until he moved eight years ago to the Barnesville area. On Dec 22, 1898 he was married to Margaret Kirkbride, who survives him. Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs Ray Hillard of Barnesville, Route 1; one grandson, a great grandchild, one brother, Foster Stephens of Quaker CIty and a sister Mrs.George Wyscarver of Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Kennonsburg Methodist church with burial in the nearby cemetery. The body will be at the Earle funeral home in Quaker City until 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

rs. Margaret Stephens, 83, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Holliard of Barnesville route 1, following a brief illness. She made her home with her daughter for the past 10 years. Mrs. Stephens was a native of Noble County and was born April 3, 1887, a daughter of Peter and Matilda Brothers Kirkbride. She was formerly resided in the Seneca lake community. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Kennonsburg Methodist Church. Her husband, Justice, preceded her in death in 1947. Surviving in addition to her daughter are four brothers, Lawrence and Simeon Kirkbride of Caldwell, James and Oliver Kirkbride, of Sarahsville; two sisters, Mrs. Earnest Ankrom, of Lore City and Mrs. Jessie Flynn of Mount Perry; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Eberle Funeral Home at Quaker City where services were held at 1 P.M. Friday with the Rev. William Irvin officiating. Burial was made in the Kennonsburg Cemetery. Thursday 12 Jan. 1961 Noble County Leader.
