Betty Jean Grisham passed away peacefully early Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Hensley's Nursing Home.

Betty was born Betty Jean Hampton on May 3, 1938 in Dexter, NM as the first child of Henry Harrison and Edna May Hampton. She grew up on a farm in Rockwell, Texas where she grew up along with her younger sister. Later in life, her family moved into Alamogordo, NM where she met Joe Bob Grisham and married him in 1965. Betty and Joe Bob moved back to Sayre, OK nine years later. They opened BJ's liquor store in 1984, and Grisham Rentals in 1995. These establishments helped Joe Bob's hometown of Sayre to prosper, and fulfilled the couples dream of owning businesses in the notorious Beckham County. Betty and Joe Bob were also collectors of Beanie Babies, and as of last count 135.

She is survived by her stepson Joe Bob Grisham , her stepdaughters, Dawn Morris and Joreen Knox, and their respective families. Betty is also survived by her sisters Anglen Barlow, Carolyn Hampton, Cathy Scott, Linda Kay Root, and Nancy (David) Hollis, as well as her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband.

In lieu of flowers, Betty's family requests that donations be made to Baptist Children's Home, (PO Box 629 Portales, NM 88130) where her mother worked for years.

She was buried in December 2017 in Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham Co., OK, Findagrave #14050628.

OBITUARY

Tommy Alan Plummer was born July 5, 1956 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Wilna Faye and Calvin Reed Plummer, Sr. He passed away April 22, 2011 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 9 months and 17 days.

Tommy grew up in the Berlin community where he attended Berlin schools and after they closed the school he came to Sayre and graduated from High School in 1974. After graduation Tommy began farming and raising cattle. He worked at the Sayre, Shamrock, Elk City and Clinton Livestock Auctions. He also worked a number of years for HP Drilling. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman and was always watching and supporting the Oklahoma Sooners and the Denver Broncos.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Wilna Faye Plummer, 1 Sister, Cheryl McLean, 3 Brothers, Calvin Plummer, Jr., Berlin, OK; Eddy Plummer, Erick, OK; and Greg Plummer, Cordell, OK; host of nieces, nephews, other, relatives and friends.
