Robert W. Wittwer, 82, of Bluffton, IN, passed away at 12:20 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton, IN.
He was born on Saturday, March 01, 1930, in Adams County, IN. He married Virginia Farlow on Tuesday, November 04, 1958 in Coldwater, Michigan.
Mr. Wittwer was a graduate of Berne high school. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. Mr. Wittwer was the former owner of Wittwer Auto Sales in Bluffton and also worked at Case Trucking, Hoosier Condensery, Kaade Motors and Larry Hiday Motors all of Bluffton.
He had been a member of the Grover Sheets American Legion Post #111 of Bluffton for over 50 years. Mr. Wittwer had been a lifetime resident of the Berne and Bluffton areas.
Survivors Include: Wife - Virginia D. (Farlow) Wittwer, Bluffton, IN and Brother - Joe L. Wittwer, Berne, IN.
He was preceded in death by:
Father - Jesse Dale Wittwer, Mother - Blanche (Lanning) Wittwer and Step Daughter - Stephanie Albertson.
Mausoleum entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Military Rites will be conducted at the graveside.
Preferred memorials: Bluffton Animal Shelter 1613 W. Cherry St. Bluffton, IN 46714
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
